Not as good as it could be
Well first of all we where standing in the cold and after an hour the boot arrived and it was freezing cold inside
Response from the operator: Dear Mahla, Thank you for your review. We are truly sorry to hear that you had such a frustrating experience with us. We would like to express our sincere apologies that you had to wait for such a long time in the cold and that it was also cold during the tour. We aim to provide all our customers with a cosy and comfortable experience, even when the weather is harsher, and regret that this was not the case for you. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and that we will address it internally to improve the processes at the dock, as well as the heating on board. If there is anything else you would like to discuss or bring to our attention, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Once again, we are very sorry for the discomfort and frustration you experienced during and before your tour. We hope that we might have the opportunity to welcome you on board for a much-improved experience, perhaps in the warmer months. Warm regards, Jessie Front Office Management

Don’t bother
Absolute waste of money. Walk instead! A 45 min delay boarding and I couldn’t see a thing from inside. Save your money and walk!
Response from the operator: Dear Amber, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly regret that your recent experience with us left you so disappointed and that you felt like you wasted your money. We sincerely apologise for the delayed departure and the bad visibility on the inside of the boat. We can imagine how frustrating this must have been for you. Please know that this is very far from what we would have wanted you to experience. Rest assured, we will address your concerns with our team to improve the boarding procedures as well as the visibility on board. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if there is anything else you would like to discuss or bring to our attention. Once again, we deeply regret the frustration and inconvenience this cruise has caused you. We hope to have the chance to welcome you on board again under much-improved circumstances. Warm regards, Jessie Front Office Management

Avoid this tour! Plastic windows can’t see outside
If I could give this zero stars I would - AVOID THIS TOUR! The boat has plastic windows and ceiling, so even if it wasn’t raining you couldn’t see out the windows without opening day. We had a rainy and very very cold day, so to open the windows meant getting cold and wet. We were not offered snacks at all, the guide had minimal information to share, and overall this was just a huge disappointment and not worth the money. There are other boats with glass windows and proper tables to sit and enjoy drinks and snacks. This is a very poor choice of boat for a tour in the wintertime. A waste of money and we ended the night cold and wet.
Response from the operator: Dear Luciana, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We truly regret to hear that your recent experience with us left you so disappointed. We sincerely apologise that the type of boat your tour took place on was not what you expected, and led to you being unable to enjoy the sights. We are also very sorry that your guide did not share much information and that you were not offered the snack included in your tickets. What you have described is very far from what we would have wanted you to experience. Therefore, we will address your comments with our team to improve our processes and offerings. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if there is anything else you would like to discuss or bring to our attention. Once again, we would like to apologise for the frustration and inconvenience this experience has caused you. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on board again in the future for a much-improved experience, perhaps in the summer. Warm regards, Jessie Front Office Management

Canal Light tour
Nice tour, skipper and tour guide were great. Enjoyed it and was priced right. The boat cover obscured some of the views and I then booked a hard cover boat for a day trip.

Dazzling by Night
The boat was nice and the guide was very enthusiastic and personable. Some of the art installations were dazzling and complex. Others were simply lovely. They made the canals even more beautiful.

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.
How much does Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 128 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks?
+
Around 45 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amsterdam Light Festival: Canal Cruise + Snack & Unlimited Drinks start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Food and Cultural Tour with 10 Tastings, Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Amsterdam 90 minutes Canal Cruise with bar and snacks on board.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
