Pasquale and Lelo were the best and most informative guides I have ever experienced. This is exactly what we were looking for.

Excellent Day
Marco was easy to find at the cruise port exit. Very nice and informative. We didn’t have lunch plans, however he called and reserved us a spot at a winery for wine tasting and lunch. Spent time at Pompeii, did some shopping, visited the Limoncello factory, bought some Limoncello for home. And returned to the ship on time. Great day. Definitely recommend

No One is Better Than Lello!
Lello and Pierpaulo were spectacular! My brother has toured with Lello twice, and my son and his friends once (Lello's first tour post-covid). My wife and I, and my sister and brother-in-law took their recommendation and booked with him too. ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS! Pierpaulo met us at the Naples port right off the ship. Our party of four was driven in an eight passenger Mercedes van down the coast to Positano, stopping along the way at incredible look out points. We walked and shopped in Positano before going to the limoncello factory. We then had an amazing lunch at a local pizzeria in Pompeii, recommended by Pierpaulo who lives in the town. After lunch we met the man and the legend, Lello. Lello toured the four of us, privately, through Pompeii for two and a half hours. Lello is an archeologist and his knowledge of Pompeii is unmatched. It was clear, very quickly, that he is held in high regard by the other tour guides, many of them making way for him. He constantly referred to us as his family and loved seeing old pictures we showed him of when he toured my brother and our son. Together these two guides were pure gentleman, courteous and kind to the last minute. After Pomeii, Pierpaulo took us to get gelato and then back to the ship. There can't possibly be anyone better! Oh, and one of my son's friends will be returning next week with her husband to tour with LELLO!!

Guido the driver was very kind and on time. He helped accommodate lunch and shopping, Rosanna the tour guide was energetic, loving, and passionate about the Pompeii tour.

Taxi Ride vs Private Guided Tour
We had booked a private guided tour in English but got a taxi ride to Positano and Pompei. First, John our guide was 15 min late with no notice. Once picked up, no apology or explanation. Then no explanation of what we were doing for the day. I kept asking "are we going to Pompei?" He kept responding but no one could understand what he was saying. We were dropped off at several picture spots but with litlle explanation of what we were looking at (or more accurately, we couldn't understand what he was saying). I gave this 3 stars because we picked up our Pompei guide (Sal) who was AWESOME!. I'm sure we were told we were going to pick him up but didn't understand John. I would give John 1 star and Sal 5 Stars - so split the difference to 3. Sal, who is a university professor, knew everything about Pompei. The family really felt like we got a in-depth documentary of Pompei - in a good way.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.
How much does Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.
Is Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amalfi Coast & Pompeii in a Day Private Trip w Pickup from Naples Port Terminal start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
