About this experience

The Amalfi Coast, is a 50 kilometers stretch of mountainous coastline situated just south of Naples. It is well known worldwide for its beautiful cliffs and is considered one of the most romantic and unforgettable sites in Italy, regarded by many as Europe’s most beautiful stretch of coast. It offers some spectacular and breathtaking scenery with the narrow serpentine road that clings to the coastal cliffs, plunging and winding around the towering cliffs that fall into the sea. You’ll see Amalfi, the largest town on this coast, with its remarkable Duomo, famous for its glorious history as a maritime republic; the picturesque and enchanting Positano; the marvellous Ravello, a hill town with the best views of the coast offered by the Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone; and then Furore, Maiori, Minori, Praiano. The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO world heritage site: after your trip to the so called ‘Divine Coast’ you’ll understand why. •

not worth the money

Seeing positano and Sorrento was nice, however we only, visited for 3 hrs and one of those was lunch. The driver barely said anything to us, he would just say ‘ok go’.we had to ask where the bathrooms were and the shopping. He seemed to be in a rush from the moment he picked us up, and his driving was horrible don’t know how many times he slammed on the brakes. He didn’t even take us to Pompei because he said, we didn’t know the history, so wouldn’t mean anything to us. There is no way we could have done pompei, sorrento and positano, and Amalfi coast in one day. this tour is false advertising, you basically drive in a van for 7 hrs and walk around for 3.Not at all what I expected. The driver also spoke poor English, so even when he tried to talk we couldn’t understand him. He was on his phone and reading texts a lot! He said he would take us to the Lemonchello factory, but nope. Very disappointed!

Response from the operator: We tried to explain what Pompeii and Vesuvius were, but alas without success, they didn't know what had happened, they had never even heard of Vesuvius, in addition to sleeping all the time of the trip, I think that before going to a so famous place it would be better to actually understand where they are going, we tried to talk but obviously they didn't hear because they were sleeping, but if they have no interest why spend money for this type of tour, as for the poor English, obviously the driver speaks English however it is clear that all excuses are good , as far as driving is concerned , they are coastal cities and obviously it is not as docile as going on the motorway , but certainly not knowing where they should have gone they did not know . I saw that they were carrying what was needed for the sea, perhaps not knowing exactly where they were going, perhaps it is better that next time you rely on a better tour operator, where they will give you clearer information and where you will go. We are ready to satisfy any request.

Beautiful day of travel

Although the day has an early start, it is well worth it. The beautiful drive along the Almalfi coast, stoping in Sorrento and the Lemoncello treat were a top off to the day. Our driver, Maurisso was very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. Every question we had for him was answered and his English was very well. The coastal drive is a very winding and steep drive and Maurisso made all of us feel very comfortable during the adventure. The recommended restaurant was also an excellent choice (taken time by Maurisso). The day ended with a visit to Pompeii. Although I wish we had had more time to visit the ruins, what we did see was breathtaking and emotional. We would highly recommend this trip. Papa Dean and his She Posse!

Response from the operator: Thanks a lot !! We are very Happy! You are a new Friend ! I hope see you again in Rome!

Everything perfect, beautiful Amalfi Coast tour. Our driver Mauricio always punctual, kind and helpful. I recommend the services of M's Carratoni Tours both for the quality of Service, for the affordable price but also for the impeccable cleanliness of the car.

Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome cost?

+

Prices start at $205 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Amalfi Coast Full day tour from Rome start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
