What you'll see and do
Amalfi Coast
The best way to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Amalfi Coast is definitely by boat, as you’ll soon experience on this full-day semi-private cruise. Your tour begins when you’re picked up at your Sorrento accommodation and head to the port of Massa Lubrense, where the boat departs at 10:00. Your skipper/guide will provide commentary about the sights you pass along the coast. Admire the ancient Saracens Towers and Li Galli Island, a private complex of 2 Islets that were once considered Ulysse Syren's abode. You’ll have time to stop for a swim, followed by a sandwich and drinks on the deck. Next you’ll visit Positano for some free time to explore this little coastal town. From here your captain will take you to Amalfi, the ancient Maritime Republic, where you'll have 2 hours at your disposal to walk around or relax in the town. Later in the afternoon you’ll return to Massa Lubrense and be transferred back to your hotel.

Boat Ride to Amalfi from Sorrento
We booked last minute and were able to get a spot! We were picked up close by our hotel and driven by an air conditioned van to the port. There we were advised which boat was going to take us. I had hoped for a larger boat ( it had said 100pp capacity) but it ended up being a smaller boat of maybe 40pp. Normally would not be an issue if you didn’t have a fear of water /boats(🫣) The boat steered out of the port… sailing was smooth!! Captain did a wonderful job of steering and bring the boat close enough to see the sites along the coast! The 2 guides - wonderful young men- Nello, who was the main guide gave info on the spots we were being shown and a little historical background. It was a fun and smooth ride. Information for pick up and drop off was clear ! We had a wonderful tour with them and would highly recommend booking them!! Thank you to them for our wonderful day

Good trip… boat ride very good
Enquiring of the tour via the company WhatsApp, I found it very difficult to get the information I required initially. It felt almost like they didn’t want us to book!! Then, once I had, having got the information and ascertained we would be met at Sorrento station (as we weren’t staying in Sorrento itself!) they proceeded to offer lots of other tours instead… very odd! Anyway, the trip went smoothly. Good pick up, left the harbour just a few minutes late and great trip to Positano. However, we only got just over an hour there rather than the 2 stated. We would’ve liked much longer as it was beautiful. On to Amalfi… 5 hours here. Far too long and had it not been for the very quaint Atrani a short walk away, we would’ve considered the day wasted. Amalfi is tragic. Overcrowded, unhappy locals/ workers everywhere you turn and just so past its best. Such a shame. Atrani is wonderful, however, meandering through its alleyways - be warned the steps are endless! - was quite lovely. The trip back on the boat was fun. A bit choppier and very cooling. Great staff on board.
Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your experience. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the boat trip, our onboard staff, and the overall organization of the day, including the pickup service. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll review how we communicate with guests to ensure that information is clearer and that follow-up messages are more helpful and less confusing. We'll certainly take your comments into account as we continue to improve our tours. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back on board for another tour in the future.

DO NOT USE. TOTAL MISLEADING. BOOK VIATOR OR OTHER GUIDE
We took the amalfi coast last minute tour. Which for some reason isn’t listed in the drop down list. However this was completely misleading. As you will see from the picture it’s listed as a tour with two picturesque stops. This did not happen. Essentially this is a shared taxi to two destinations. With ZERO stops for pictures. ZERO communication from the driver. THIS IS NOT A TOUR!!! Also other passengers paid 65€ so we were also ripped off.
Response from the operator: We’re very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. At Tempio Travel Sorrento, we always strive to provide clear information about our tours, including the type of service, stops, and inclusions. It seems there was a misunderstanding regarding the tour format, and we sincerely apologize if this caused any frustration. Our team values guest feedback, and we will review the listing and communication to ensure future guests have a clear understanding of what to expect. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further and see how we can make things right. Please feel free to contact us directly.

Scary boat ride
The tour was average, the tour guide, Francesco was friendly. The return boat ride was harrowing. The sea was very rough, 2 kids were throwing up as we're their mother. The waves were quite scary. Francesco did not communicate with us on board during this scary ordeal. I was actually holding on for dear life. My friend was actually praying she wouldn't go overboard. Again, not one word from 18yo Francesco or the young captain of the boat. As on a plane, if turbulence is ahead, the pilot comes on to warn passengers to remain seated and belted in...Francesco did not warn us at all that extremely rough seas were ahead after leaving Positano (May 25). Why didn't the company halt the boats? Were they aware? I heard that another passenger asked for a life jacket as she was petrified..he only brought up one from down below. The boat was rocking so forcefully that he fell below. Francesco showed his inexperience and should be trained to communicate with travelers about the conditions. I paid $150 euros for quite a scary experience.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.
How much does Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.
Is Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amalfi Coast Boat Tour With Pickup from Sorrento Area Hotels start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sorrento?
+
On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
