    Great tour

Not what I was expecting but still a great experience. It was a private tour which included a tour around casa de campo before touring altos de chavon. Also included a museum tour and photos on top of a donkey

    An Amateur Photographer's Dream

I’m giving this tour five stars for the incredible scenery alone. The high-altitude views of the river provide world-class photography opportunities that make the trip worth every penny. Additionally, the museum presentation was excellent and very well-delivered. My only minor gripe is the timing; we departed at 8:00 AM and were back by 11:30 AM. It felt a bit short for a "half-day" excursion, but the quality of the sights more than made up for the quick pace. If you're looking for stunning shots and a bit of history, don't miss it!

    Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful half day tour into the Highly Exclusive & Affluent Gated Community of Casa de Campo frequented by many celebrities. Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and courteous showing us around. We saw beautiful views of the River, walked around all the exclusive shops and even rode a donkey! The amphitheater was amazing (felt like we were in Rome or Greece!) and the church was also very pretty. Great photo ops around every corner! Really beautiful and something different to do aside from beach & action parks.

    Wonderful medieval village

Very impressive place. Really enjoyed seeing this place and Alex the guide was very informative. Was supposed to be a half day tour but took a good hour longer than it should have done and not back at hotel until 3pm due to other tourists being inconsiderate being late for bus, wanting to go to a money exchange and taking longer than they should at the different attractions! But this was not excursion people’s fault although we had booked the trip for the Saturday and moved it a day early to probably accommodate these selfish people!

    Alex, the best tour guide!

The tour was excellent. From the moment Alex picked us up at the hotel, he provided information and explained the history of the place. The views along the route were breathtaking. The museum and staff were incredibly friendly. Alex is an excellent tour guide.

Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana take?

    +

Plan for about 5.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 5.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Altos de Chavón Half Day Tour from Bavaro Punta Cana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
