All Inclusive Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Tour from Delhi by Express Train

Minimal Guided Service

First, it should be clear that the express train is no longer operational. This means you will be driven from Delhi, which will take about 4 hours with a bathroom stop. We did not get to the Taj Mahal until noon at the absolute heat of the day. The guide shared a small amount of information about the sight but nothing particularly special. The guide did not accompany us inside. I also ended up getting food poisoning from the lunch restaurant.

Enjoyable day but misleading about what is included.

I find this review hard to write because I did have an enjoyable day but on reflection it did not live up to the advertisement promoting the tour. I thought I was getting a tour which was no shopping and included the Baby Taj but I reflect on the day and it ended up going via a marble manufacturing business and I don't recall going to the Baby Taj and have no photos of it. The hotel pickup started well and dropping off at the train station. Arrival in Agra didn't go to plan as I wasn't sure where to wait. I saw many tourists meeting their guide on the station platform, so I thought that would apply to me. Train went and everyone left and eventually the driver did come with my name on a sign. Lesson, ask where to meet and wait for driver/guide on arrival. Drivers in New Delhi and Agra take you photo and send to the other destination, so they know who they are looking for. This is a good idea. The driver and guide (Narendra) were very professional and were local with good knowledge of the sights. The guide did keep on asking me something like "where to next". I found this odd, the guide should know what I tour I booked on. Nearing the end of the day he followed this up with "the train station". I then mentioned that the reason I booked this tour was the sunset view across the river to the Taj Mahal. I do wonder if I not had mentioned this, whether we would have actually gone there. Mehtab Bagh (Taj Mahal Sunset View Point) is definitely worth the visit, it was a highlight of the day for me. The marble manufacturing exhibition and shop. This wasn't part of the tour description but I did enjoy learning about how the craftsmen (dependents from the craftsman that made the Taj Mahal) perform their art. The shop is very high quality and tasteful. The salespeople do not quote inc tax, so with 18% tax on top, my credit card bill was a lot more than I was expecting. I also wonder did we miss the Baby Taj because we went here, I do not recall having it explained that we would miss the Baby Taj. I did have an enjoyable day and I do feel that I had a good experience and now know a lot about Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal. A review is about the whole package including is the description accurate and I do not feel it was accurate and hence the 3 star rating.

Fabulous Day at one of The Wonders of The World

An excellent tour which my wife and two daughters throughly enjoyed. Although an early start and less than impressive train journey, the tour was made by our guide Santosh and driver Ikrar, who were both excellent. The Taj Mahal is spellbinding, you can’t take your eyes off it….but our visit would have been missing an essential part without the guidance, knowledge and friendliness of Santosh. A mine if information which was delivered in an very informative manner. He kept us spellbound with the history of this amazing Mausoleum. We throughly recommend both Santosh and Ikrar to you, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent Day Trip to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort

This tour was VERY well organized from start to finish! I did not have to worry about anything whatsoever as all logistics were planned out and executed perfectly by each individual involved. As for the tour, my guide (Santosh) was amazing. Very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and accommodating, attentive and is overall an awesome guy. Made for an unforgettable experience as I learned so much. A major plus, Santosh takes great pictures at the Taj! Highly recommended!
