Sherpa Camp is based in the wilderness area of DDCR - a 225-square-kilometre area that has been protected for 23 years with very restricted access. Sand Sherpa is the only company permitted to operate a camp here. Adventurers stay in private locations throughout undulating dunes and amidst trees, but within easy access to bathroom facilities and our main camp area, where dinner and breakfast is served. Each camping trailer is equipped with a rooftop tent, outdoor sofa, firepit, cooler, barbeque grill and more! Guests are transferred between their hotel/residence and camp by our guide and once they enter the reserve, they enjoy a scenic drive on our specially prepared track to camp. Bush meals are prepared for campers, including salad, burgers and pizza, while bedding is also ready in their tents. An evening nature walk is optional with our camp leader, while in the morning, participants are also invited to a hawk walk to identify animal tracks that have appeared overnight.

Sand Sherpa is a genuine desert experience and such a memorable experience!
From the moment we arrived, the team at Sand Sherpa took such good care of us. There was an opportunity to view a video explaining the layout of the camping area and what to expect. The team adjusted our tyre pressures, gave each vehicle a walkie-talkie and off we went driving through the desert reserve, spotting wonderful specimens of wildlife. The guide kept us fully informed and answered all the questions. When we arrive at the camping area, each family was dropped off at their location, and we had time to settle in and explore the dunes and get our bearings. Once it was dark, we gathered in the central space and then set off on a scorpion hunt! Very exciting! On our return, we sat under the stars and then helped ourselves to a delicious meal of fresh ingredients, all expertly cooked in front of us. When we returned to our camp area, one of the team had kindly lit the fire, and we relished being deep in the desert surrounded by nature.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon.

An Unforgettable Getaway with Sand Sherpa
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Sand Sherpa! Hugo and the team were fantastic. The drive into camp using the radio was a lot of fun, and Hugo's commentary, sharing insights about the animals and landscape, was truly fascinating. Dinner was super, and the scorpion walk was undoubtedly a highlight! Booking was seamless, and Diana's communication throughout the process was excellent. I would highly recommend Sand Sherpa to anyone considering a visit. The only suggestion I’d like to share is whether it might be possible to add mosquito netting to the bottom bed to help keep the bugs out at night. Other than that, it was the perfect getaway. Thank you so much, it made for a very memorable birthday celebration and we'd love to do it again in the future!
Response from the operator: Many thanks for your review. We're glad you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon.

Extraordinary trip into the desert
We spent one night at the Sand Sherpa Camp in the Dubai Desert Conseveration Reserve. Communication in advance and booking was easy and they were very responsive to any questions. We received reminders about the time and meeting point up front. The organized transfer from the hotel was on-time and brought us comfortably to the reserve. After a friendly welcome, the drive to the camp in an open truck started. Arriving to the camp, we were introduced to the facilities and could enjoy a few hours for ourselves cooking coffee and enjoying the sunset in the dunes. The camp is very spacious with own fireplaces which made the experience individual. Dinner was freshly made and delicious while breakfast offered a basic start into the day. The scorpion walk during night and the falconry added some adventure to the experience. We slept well in the well-maintained trailers and it was lovely to be waken up by the early bird's sounds. If we had to recommend doing one thing differently it would be making stops with the truck during the safari drive to the camp when spotting animals for photos instead of just driving a bit slower. Overall, highly recommended to book, as it is a very individual tour. For us it was a great opportunity to broaden the horizon during our city trip to Dubai.
Response from the operator: Many thanks for your review. We're glad you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon.

Great time at Sand Sherpa Camp
We had a great time at the Sand Sherpa camp. Our guides were very helpful and experienced, the accommodation super comfortable and the food was delicious. All the necessary equipment was provided and we loved the silence of the night in the desert and star-lit sky. Our kids really enjoyed the glowing scorpions hunt and doing tricks with Sally the Harris Hawk. We would love to go back!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to review your adventure with us! Hope to see you all again!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dubai.
How much does All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve cost?
+
Prices start at AED 330 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dubai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve take?
+
Plan for about 19 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dubai is not rushed.
Is All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 127 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Dubai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 19-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve?
+
Around 44 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dubai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dubai and add a light layer if any part of the 19-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dubai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dubai?
+
On Outty we rank every Dubai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubai Premium Red Dunes Safari, Camels & 5* BBQ at Al Khayma Camp, Dubai: Red Dunes Safari, Quad, Camel, Dune Bash, BBQ & Shows, Dubai Evening Desert Safari Dune Bashing, BBQ Dinner & Live Shows. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dubai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dubai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What happens to All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Dubai. Standard cancellation terms apply.
What do travelers say about All-Inclusive Sherpa Camp in Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve?
+
Across 127 reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5, recurring themes include the guide, knowledge and storytelling, good for families. Travelers single out the guide as the reason the experience works.
