Mount Batur hike and hot springs relaxation

Arta our driver messaged us the night before trip to confirm pick up time from hotel. He arrived promptly and was polite and friendly, he explained what was going to happen. We had our guide to ourselves, he provided us with a walking pole, headtorch and carried water for us. He was patient, went at our pace and allowed us frequent stops to catch our breath. He also gave us the option of the easy longer route or harder quicker route to take. After reaching the summit he made us lovely warm banana sandwiches and hot chocolate. The sunrise was beautiful and was a fantastic experience, well worth the climb. Our guide took loads of lovely photos of us. He then showed us the steam holes and took us around the crater rim. On the way down we saw the monkeys too. Our guide assisted us down any difficult bits. I’m really sorry I can’t remember his name as he was excellent even giving us a download of the photos he had taken of us on his camera. Arta then took us on to the hot springs and sorted out towels, locker keys and a free drink voucher. He was great and allowed us to enjoy as much time as we wanted in the various pools which were at different temperature's. He then drove us back to the hotel after stopping at a coffee plantation to sample different coffees and teas and have an explanation of the growing process. It was a fantastic trip and excellent value for money, would definitely recommend.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
