    About this experience

If you are good hiker and want to see non-tourist Great wall with best view, This two sections would be best choice for two day hiking on the Greatwall, which is Jiankou and Jinshanling. Jiankou Greatwall is more difficult than other sections and a part of the wall is quite steep to go up and down. Jinshanling Greatwall was preserved very well, and it is a exemplary section of the Great Wall and hence comes the saying that the Jinshanling section is the most essential and classic part of the Great Wall. Meals, entrance fees, over night accommodation (at the farmer's house), private guide and transfer service are all inclusive.

    Great experience!

My sister and I had Miko as our tour guide, he was very friendly, patient and thoughtful. He was also very knowledgeable about the great wall and other Chinese history. Had lots of good tips about what to do around the area. Enjoyed it very much!

Amazing two days on the Great Wall

We spent an amazing two days with our guide, Peter, Yue Chao. He was delightful, funny, knowledgeable, helpful and kind! We were scheduled to hike at Jiankou, but because we were jet-lagged and recovering from colds, he took us to Gubeikou. It was a great choice. We saw one group at the start of our hike and then it was just my husband and I and the guide! It was so special! The next day we visited Jinshanling and loved the contrast with more people. The hiking was way more wonderful than we had imagined.

Fantastic tour one of the best things we did in China

I did the Great Wall 2 day trek tour in August with 5 friends. It was probably the highlight of our trip to China. Our guide James was great, friendly, knowledgeable, funny and went above and beyond to help us not only on the trip but also on our onward journey to Shanghai. The treks we did were challenging and I wouldn’t recommend unless you are reasonably fit and confident hiking on challenging sections of the wall, however the reward you get for the hike it is second to none. Both parts of the wall we hiked were pretty much empty of any other people for most of the hike with stunning 360 views both days. The two areas are also very different so you experience something different each days. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough if you want to get away from the tourists and experience the Great Wall in all its glory. The accommodation food and hospitality of our guide James, driver Johnboy and the people we stayed with overnight were exceptional. If you are up for two days challenging hike then I think this is by far the best way to experience the Great Wall.

    +

Prices start at $208 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does All Inclusive 2-Day Great Wall Challenge Private Trip to Jiankou and Jinshanling take?

    +

    +

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
