Transportation Was Canceled Without Notice — Very Disappointing Experience

Imagine arriving in a different country with your family, relying on transportation that you arranged in advance, and expecting everything to be taken care of after landing at the airport. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. After landing, I spent about 20 minutes looking for my transportation, only to check my email and discover that the reservation had been canceled. I received no phone call, text message, or courtesy notification beforehand. I had to find out myself—on the same day I arrived. What made the situation even worse was that there were no Uber options available at the airport, leaving me and my family in a very uncomfortable and stressful situation. When you travel with your family to a country you’re unfamiliar with, reliable transportation is extremely important. If a reservation needs to be canceled, customers should be notified ahead of time and given an alternative. Because of this experience, if someone asks me in the future whether I would rely on TripAdvisor for transportation, unfortunately, my answer would be no.

The flight information provided by the guest on the reservation was JetBlue flight 2549, with an arrival at Santo Domingo International Airport (SDQ), not Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Our transportation company is based in Punta Cana, and our transfer services operate from Punta Cana and the surrounding areas. Therefore, the flight and airport information provided with the reservation did not correspond to the airport from which our transportation service operates. As part of our operational procedure, we verify flight information on the day of service, as flight schedules and arrival information can change. It was during this verification that we confirmed that JetBlue flight 2549 was arriving in Santo Domingo. Since Santo Domingo is outside our operating area, we were unfortunately unable to provide the requested transfer from that airport. For this reason, we had no choice but to cancel the reservation. We understand that the cancellation was inconvenient, and we sincerely apologize that the communication did not reach you earlier. However, we would like to clarify that the cancellation was not due to our service being unavailable in Punta Cana. It was necessary because the flight information provided in the reservation corresponded to an airport outside our service area. We are taking your feedback into consideration and reviewing our verification and communication procedures to help prevent situations like this in the future. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you and your family were ultimately able to reach your destination safely.

Smooth and easy through...

Smooth and easy through the maze of vendors and taxis vying for our business at the airport. Found my name and within a few minutes we were off to hotel. Handled our three bags like a pro.

Adjusted pickup times with no issue!

These guys were great to nwork with. I'm an Airline Employee so we fly standby which means we can often come in on different flights than originally planned. In bond and outbound this was the case. I was able to reach out to them and adjust my pick up time and without any issue they were able to accommodate us. They were great. Also you'll find them waiting for you as you exit the indoor section or the terminal, just down the ramp.

Good Service with a Small Arrival Mix-Up

**Title: Good Service with a Small Arrival Mix-Up** Our arrival began with a little confusion. After clearing customs and reaching the pickup area, we did not see a driver holding our name or signage clearly identifying eTransfers Punta Cana. After asking around for a few minutes, we located their representatives and pointed out that the company name was not displayed on their signboard. They corrected it immediately and explained that our driver had encountered traffic. We waited approximately 20 minutes for the driver. A quick message through WhatsApp or Viator about the delay would have been helpful, but the mix-up did not put a damper on our vacation. Once the driver arrived, everything went smoothly. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and the driver was courteous and drove safely. For my return, I requested an earlier pickup to allow extra time at the airport. The company accommodated my request, and the driver arrived promptly. The return ride was just as clean, comfortable, and professional. Overall, we had a good experience. I will be returning to Punta Cana in October and would likely use eTransfers again.
