Great way to explore Agra beyond the usual sights

We did a Heritage Walk with Soulwalks as an office team and had a very good experience overall. The walk was informative and gave us a great glimpse into the older parts of Agra. The local food stops were excellent in terms of taste — the places are quite basic in their look and feel, which is understandable given the character of the old city. Ending the walk with a view of the Taj was a wonderful touch. A couple of things that would have helped us plan the experience better: we visited during Sawan festivities and the Kanwar Yatra, and while the team did adapt with alternate routes during the walk, it would have been useful to know beforehand about the expected crowds and their potential impact on access. Similarly, as we did the walk on a Monday, the closure of the spice and jewellery markets was something we would have liked to know in advance when choosing and planning the walk. These are more about proactive planning guidance than the walk itself, and given Soulwalks’ local expertise, I think this would be a useful addition to their pre-walk communication. Erum, our guide, was fantastic, and Tahir was excellent with the hospitality. Both made the experience enjoyable. Overall, I would definitely recommend Soulwalks for anyone looking to explore a different side of Agra.

Response from the operator: Hi Prashant, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback. We’re really glad to know that you enjoyed the walk, the food stops, and the experience with Erum, and it was a pleasure having your team with us. You’re absolutely right about the points you’ve highlighted. During major festivals and events such as Sawan and the Kanwar Yatra, we should be more proactive in communicating the expected crowds and their possible impact on the experience. Similarly, information about market closures on specific days is something we can include upfront to help guests plan their experience better. We’re going to be more mindful of these things and incorporate them into our pre-walk communication, so guests have a clearer idea of what to expect on the ground and can plan accordingly. Thank you once again for the constructive feedback. Reviews like yours genuinely help us learn and improve, and we really appreciate you taking the time to share it. Warm regards, Tahir Soul Walks

    Amazing experience

Just returned from an amazing tour of Agra old city with Arhaan. He was so knowledgable, engaging and kind. We walked the old city and Arhaan shared stories, brought our surroundings to life and he found so many interesting places that we would never find. We also ate some gorgeous sweet and savoury food and had had plenty of water & a delicious lime drink. I cannot recommend this company enough / they are first class amazing and are at the very top of their game.

Response from the operator: Dear Marcus, Thank you so much for choosing to explore the old city of Agra with Soul Walks, and for taking the time to leave us such a generous review. Arhaan will be delighted to hear your words! For us, these walks are about bringing the soul of a city alive through its stories, people, streets and flavours. We hope to welcome you again—whether in Agra or on a Soul Walk in another city!

Taj Mahal and Agra 101 tour with Tahir

Tahir was our guide. He spent the morning with us at the Taj Mahal then we met late afternoon for the Agra 101. His sharing was passionate and he really tried to understand what our interests were so he could tailor the experience to us. He expressed deep personal knowledge of Agra and really brought into the history and current realities of the city and his neighborhood. My highlight was being invited to him home. We met his lovely wife and mom and cat! The food and chai laid out was amazing and being in their home helped connect us to his world. Thank you for your hospitality and your care of our needs. I felt safe, heard, and grateful for the friendship you offered us. I will note that i wasnt our groups main coordinator. I heard later they had a lot of confusion and difficulty coordinating with this company. They only realized later that multiple users were using the same whatsapp handle which led to part of the confusion and frustration.

Response from the operator: Hi Joshua, Thank you so much for your kind review—it was truly a pleasure hosting you and your family in Agra and spending that time together exploring the city. We’re really grateful for your positive words. I did want to touch upon your note regarding some confusion in communication. This is the first time we’re hearing about this, and we don’t have multiple people handling the same WhatsApp conversation, so I’d love to understand this a bit better. If you’re able to share a little more detail, it would really help us take this as constructive feedback and improve further. That said, we truly appreciate you bringing it up. We’re deeply committed to making every guest’s experience in our city as seamless and meaningful as possible. Thank you once again for choosing to spend your time with us. Warm regards, Tahir

The best day in India with the best guide ever!

Arhaan (Heritage Experience Curator) was the best guide we have ever met! He is extremely knowledgeable and competent, and he guided us on our exploration of Agra, sharing countless historical anecdotes in a very thorough and professional manner. His passion for Indian history and culture shines through in his words and is really captivating. In addition to showing us the city’s architectural and artistic treasures, Arhaan took us to explore some local markets where the vibrant heart of Agra beats. After spending a wonderful afternoon, Arhaan took us to the home of an incredibly kind and hospitable family. They offered us excellent tea and invited us to stay for dinner and join them for the Eid celebrations. We spent the entire evening with their relatives and friends, and they truly made us feel right at home. Finally, Arhaan was kind enough to personally drive us back to the hotel, even though it was already very late. In short, the day we spent in Agra with Arhaan was the best of our entire stay in India! It enriched us not only culturally, but also—and above all—on a human level.

Response from the operator: Hello Alice, thanks for the best review ever :). It was our pleasure to host you & your mother. Look forward to curating more soulful journeys for you whenever you are in India.

Agra 101 City Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Agra.

How much does Agra 101 City Walk cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Agra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Agra 101 City Walk take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Agra is not rushed.

Is Agra 101 City Walk worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Agra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Agra 101 City Walk?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Agra 101 City Walk suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Agra 101 City Walk?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Agra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Agra and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Agra 101 City Walk start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Agra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Agra?

    +

On Outty we rank every Agra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Taj Mahal Sunrise and Agra Fort Skip the Line Tour, Taj Mahal Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Multiple Options, Agra: Private Sunrise Taj Mahal & Agra City Tour":. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Agra?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Agra?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
