    10/10 Tour

For the fee, this was absolutely worth the price. All in all did about 4 hours worth of touring and my guide was phenomenal all way through. He was an immense resource of personal knowledge speaking about how he ran the Marathon from Marathon Proper to his experience as a teacher. Overall I cannot rate the time we had highly enough.

Look no further and ask for Dorina

I go on a walking tour in every city or archeological/cultural site I visit and our guide Dorina with Athens Walks was by far and away the best ever. Her knowledge and delivery were pitch perfect and she really looked after everyone in our group. One of our group wears hearing aids and Dorina checked in on her throughout and ensured she was always able to hear. The content was fascinating and I would not hesitate to do another tour with lovely Dorina. We did the Acropolis and Acropolis museum. If you're really into archeology and greek myth do both, if not just do the Acropolis.

    Absolutely dreadful customer service!

First of all, the people at the Athens walls office are incredibly rude! Incredibly unhelpful and not at all sympathetic! After booking the expensive walking tour, we were issued one ticket each to the museum and the acropolis. After going through security with the museum ticket, one of them had been misplaced. I understand that it was our fault having lost the ticket but Athens walks made NO effort to make our tour complete and enjoyable! It soured my entire day and I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE book with this dreadful company! Find another company to book with!

Great tour if you actually want to learn!!

Overall a good experience. Easy to find the meet up place. They explained the process, and was organized. I loved the fact that they provide you with an audio device so that you can hear your guide talking on the tour in a very crowded place. If you are a 1st timer, a guide is a must, otherwise you will have no idea what you are looking at. Our guide Lydia was very knowledgeable, and caring. She made sure we drank plenty of water, took bathroom breaks when possible and found shaded spot to explain things. Being a history teacher she had a wealth of knowledge although at times it was overwhelming and felt like she was going all over the place. Overall, learned a lot!!! Museum is also amazing and overwhelming after an Acropolis tour on a hot day!!!

Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Acropolis and Acropolis Museum afternoon tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
