Excellent and very entertaining private tour with Maria (PhD in Archiology) -made a difference

We booked a private guide -what we always go to get the most out of a sightseeing tour -and it was fantastic. Our guide, Maria, born and raised in Athens told us not only historic facts on history, architecture, making-of-the-temples, etc…. but also interesting stories around the many goddesses and their relations to each other. We learned about links current political and European issues and it was extremely interesting. The 4 hours passed by too fast…….highly recommendable!

Wonderful guided tours with Jessica !!

Jessica and Kostas of the “Little Owl Tour “ travel agency, Greece Have you ever dreamed to bring your family with post adolescent children (25-23-22 and 19 yrs old, among which three girls beautiful as their mother) one week to Greece during the winter holydays ? Have you ever dreamed to let them experience the real Greek culture, getting in touch with local people, learning them a lot of habits, heritage, monuments, history, language, delicious Greek cuisine of street food ? Have you ever dreamed to enjoy beautiful Greeks landscapes as well as the sunrise from te Licabettus Hill in Athens of the sunsets of the marvellous Cap Sounion ? And what if in your dreams you also imagined that a very nice, universally knowledgeable and extremely caring Dutch (but also German or English or Greek) speaking guide accompanies you and your family during the whole period, telling you a plenty of mythological stories, explaining you a lot of interesting things about the old Greeks habits and patiently answering all the question you and your children are posing her ? And what if in your dreams you also imagined that you do not have to stress to organized the day or to buy any ticket or even to que up because this fantastic guide brings you safely everywhere and keeps the time table sharp but in a very agreeable manner ? And what if in your dreams you imagine that all what above just mentioned financially affordable is for you, who have collect enough saving to reward your family with an unforgettable holyday in Greece ? If you suddenly wake up and you really want to realize all these dreams, there is only one organization in Greece who will do its very best in helping you ! Its name is “Little Owl Tour “ a small travel agency run by Jessica and Kostas, with its main office in Piraeus. Jessica is a very bright, highly educated ( Master in Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam !) professional guide as well as a very respectful person, who can communicate with you in at least four languages which she perfectly speaks. Moreover she knows everything about ancient Greece, from history to habits and she is able to tells in details fascinating stories such as the raise of the democracy in the agora of Athens of the rol of the oracle in Delphos. And as a romance, she will show later in musea more objects which prove her story more credible. Her specialty is definitely the ancient Greek culture, and her passion on this is very contagious. How did I find Jessica and her “Little Owl Tour “ travel agency ? I’ve got the name and number of Jessica from the official website of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, as Jessica is a fully recognised tourist guide, a title which is really not easy to achieve in Greece, especially for a foreign citizen. As I said before, Jessica was born in the Southern of the Netherlands, and completed successfully her academic master in Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam. Of course I did not know who Jessica was, but her Curriculum Vitae and the website of the “Little Owl Tour “ convinced me at glance to contact her for my purpose. Since the very first e-mail. I received quick and adequate feed-back from her man Kostas, who was very keen in keeping in touch with me through all the very important e-mails of the first orienting phase. His seriousness and accuracy in answering all my question and helping me in organizing the program of the week were very good. Also, my doubts vanished when I received the mobile telephone number and whatsapp of Jessica, with whom I could arrange our visit in great details. As you may read in other recensions, lot of positive and loving things have already be said about Jessica and about the “Little Owl ” travel agency .However, some peculiar aspects of Jessica have still to be highlighted. Therefore I asked my 4 adolescent children to suggest some quality of her: • Enthousiastic • Punctual and accurate, very professional • Huge knowledge about ancient (but also modern) Greek history • Contagious passion • Lot of pieces of advice how to have a pleasant stay in Athens, from the best roof top bars to restaurant tips or bakery’s, etc. etc) • Gifted narrator and story teller of mythological stories right in the place where they happened, such as the Pantheon, the Agora or the Archaeological museum in Athens of the theatre and Archaeological museum in Delphos • Digital guide => she uses her I-pad to complete with illustrations her story • Photograph using a Polaroid camera => she takes a foto of your group in the most salient moment of the tour • Knows her limit => when I asked Jessica to be guided through the Byzantinic Athens, she admitted het lack of knowledge and she arranged for us another very expert guide with whom she collaborates • Jessica was very patient with all the “requirements” imposed by my post adolescent children • Teacher : through asking questions to the group during the visit, she keeps alive the interest as a very good teacher, making the visit an interactive experience Moreover, Jessica, Kostas and their her “Little Owl Tour “ travel agency are surrounded by good and trustable people, as for instance Dimitri, a very agreeable and safe taxi driver. The last day, when we must left each other, it was very sad moment for me and for us because we are very found of Jessica. Whenever I’ll be back in Greece, I will surely first contact the “Little Owl Tour “ travel agency of Jessica and Kostas. I hope you will do the same after having read this report. Best regards Giorgio Porro, MD, PhD

Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German cost?

    +

Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 62 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German?

    +

Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Acropolis & Acropolis Museum Group tour in German start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
