About this experience

Why book with A wee pedal? We are Visit Scotland's award winning 'Best outdoor experience' praised for high quality guest experience whilst supporting the local community. We have no need to use vehicles as we start right on the cycle path and are proudly named a zero-carbon company. Groups are kept small for high guest experience and safety and you'll learn about this ancient city whilst having a lot of fun with our qualified and experienced guides. This is a fun ride with the promise of an ice cream (or coffee!) on the beach or inside to warm up if in winter. It is a 12 mile round trip. You will start right in the heart of Craigmillar Castle grounds, close to the city centre and easily accessed by foot, bus, taxi or car (there is free on-site parking) E-bikes can be hired at an additional cost of £25pp cash on the day. Please let me know if you would like this option. UK regulations mean age 14 is the minimum age to ride an E bike. Guests must be able to ride a bike safely.

No extra charge for manual bike. We shall head through the beautiful Craigmillar Park, home of Craigmillar Castle, before heading through the 19th Century Victorian Railway tunnel taking us into Holyrood Park and riding past our extinct volcano, Arthur's Seat. We then head onto cycle paths all the way to the coast for coffee or Ice cream! This is perfect for families or those who want a gentle ride to the beach. Adventure with Jude!

Had a great day with Jude! She took us on a 20 mile e-bike tour of Edinburgh that allowed us to see the city from many different view points . Great experience away from the crowds.

A Wee Pedal Amazing Ride

A Wee Pedal provided a wonderful cycling experience. Richard and Leanne are amazing people who care about the tourists. The path was easy to ride and Richard had many great tidbits along the way. I would highly recommend this to any level of cyclists.

Amazing ride

This was so much fun. The bikes were great. The tour guides were great. Make sure you bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes and bottle of water. The difficulty of the ride was about six on the scale of one to 10. The best part is seeing the water.

So fun!

Leeann was a terrific guide. Knowledgeable about not only the history of the area, but brought a great perspective on conservation, the local community, and her love of Scotland.

'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.

How much does 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast cost?

+

Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.

Is 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast?

+

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 'A Wee Pedal's' Family Friendly Cycle Tour to Edinburgh's Coast start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?

+

On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh Ghost Tour: Mysteries, Legends and Murders. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Edinburgh?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
