Fun day on the Kapiti Coast
This tour had a blend of activities that included an interesting lesson at a coffee roaster along with some great coffee, as well as a stop at a chocolate shop/factory. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a delicious Italian restaurant with great wine! The original description of the tour included a couple other stops, but since it was Sunday, those places were closed, which was unfortunate as we were looking forward to the gin distillery. Our guide, Tom, was very engaging and had much history and knowledge of the area and he was able to answer our questions. When we asked about Dukkah, he took us to a market that carried it so we could purchase and take back home. We were very appreciative that Tom went out of his way to do this kind gesture for us! Tom also took numerous photos of us at various stops along the way and posted a link to them so that we would have some good memories from the day. Overall, a great day, but definitely missed the gin tasting as well as a few brews from the area.
Response from the operator: Kia ora Carla, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of your day out with Kaewa Tours last April. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and host you and Kandy for the day. Unfortunately, being a Sunday, we missed the Distillery and Chocolate Factory for which I apologise. I trust you enjoyed the remainder of your visit to Aotearoa New Zealand and that you had a safe trip home to the US. Take care and best wishes, Tom

Tom was a fantastic guide and answered so many of our questions about the area and New Zealand in general. Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Kia ora Tim and Ada, Thank you very much for your very kind words and for taking the time to share your experience of your day out with Kaewa Tours. I am very pleased you enjoyed your day out exploring some of the Kāpiti Coast's fabulous tastes and experiences from our Artisan producers. I trust you enjoyed the remainder of your visit to Aotearoa New Zealand and that you had a safe trip home to the US. Take care and best wishes, Tom and Jill

Great day in and outside of Wellington!
Tom was our guide and he couldn't have planned a better day. We started by driving past Parliament, then along the coast, and ending at a shop where we roasted our own coffee. We had a great lunch at an authentic Italian market, a great snack at a French cheese shop. Then we made our own candy bars. Ended right around the corner from our hotel at a micro brewery. Tom was informative and quite generous. Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Kia ora Gary and George, Thank you very much for your very kind words and for taking the time to share your experience of your day out with Kaewa Tours. I equally enjoyed my day out with the two of you. I trust you enjoyed the rest of your visit to Aotearoa New Zealand and that you had a safe trip home to the US. Take care and best wishes, Tom & Jill

Great day out.
The experience was fantastic. We were collected from home and driven up the coast to a number of points of interest. Cider making, ice cream tasting, lovely lunch and we roasted our own coffee. Great variety of things to do and accompanied by a great host/driver.
Response from the operator: Kia ora Suzanne, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of your day out with me. It was lovely to meet and host you and Phillip back in 2023 and I'm pleased you enjoyed your day out. Take care and best wishes, Tom

A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Wellington.
How much does A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $497 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Wellington usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Wellington is not rushed.
Is A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Wellington, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Wellington can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Wellington and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Wellington within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Wellington?
+
On Outty we rank every Wellington experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Experience Tour on Kapiti Island, Discover Wellington 3 hour City Tour, Martinborough Wine and Wild Coast Tour from Wellington. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Wellington?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Wellington?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
