On our scenic adventure cruise we'll pass by Iron Pot, Tasmania's oldest lighthouse, standing guard at the mouth of the Derwent near the northern tip of Bruny Island since 1832. We'll take you in close on the water, tracing the shorelines along the way and sharing the history of this little sentinel that's watched over the channel for nearly 200 years.

The Neck is Bruny's most iconic stretch; a slender ribbon of sand connecting the island's north and south, usually seen from the lookout up top. Depending on the day, you'll have the option to cruise past for a rarer view from the water: a quieter angle on the isthmus and its beaches that most visitors never get.

Bruny NORTH sits in the same building as Bruny Island Wild in Dennes Point, a gallery space that punches well above what you'd expect to find on a small island. The exhibitions rotate through the year; painting, sculpture, photography from Tasmanian and visiting artists, so there's always something new to take in. You'll have unhurried time to wander the current show before or after lunch, just a few steps from the table.

Dennes Point Heritage Trail
The Dennes Point Heritage Trail starts right by Bruny Island Wild and makes an easy walk out to Kelly's Point; the northernmost tip of Bruny. It's a short stretch, but a heritage-rich one: this is an area of deep significance to the Tasmanian Aboriginal people, and the site of some of the earliest encounters between Aboriginal people and Europeans, with the trail marking events of European settlement from 1818 onward. Take it at your own pace in the free time after lunch and enjoy beautiful views, real history, and a quiet corner of Bruny Island most visitors don't get to see.

Bruny Island Quarantine Station
You'll pass Quarantine Bay by boat on the way in, and again by road on the land leg; and if your group's keen, we can easily slot in a stop to explore. It's one of North Bruny's most fascinating and least-expected corners. The maritime quarantine station operated from 1884 until 1919, and its story runs deep: from the Nuenonne people who lived here long before, to a WWI internment camp for German nationals, to soldiers quarantined through the 1919 influenza pandemic. There's plenty of history to take in, wildlife about, and some lovely walking over the reserve.
