What you'll see and do

  1. Choulakia

Where Mykonos Begins to Feel Different Before the road climbs toward the Armenistis Lighthouse, the journey begins along one of Mykonos’ most distinctive stretches of coastline. Houlakia is unlike the island’s famous sandy beaches. Its shore is covered with smooth, naturally rounded pebbles, shaped over time by the movement of the Aegean and considered part of the area’s protected natural character. The stones are meant to remain exactly where nature placed them — taking them from the beach is prohibited. Wild, windswept and largely untouched, Houlakia offers a first glimpse of the Mykonos that exists beyond the polished image of the island: raw landscapes, open sea and nature shaped by the elements. A quiet introduction to the wilder side of Mykonos — and the beginning of the road less travelled.

  2. Faros Armenistis

Where the Land Meets the Aegean Rising above the rugged northwestern coast of Mykonos, Armenistis Lighthouse has stood watch over the Aegean since 1891. From here, the landscape opens dramatically towards Tinos and the surrounding islands, with nothing but rock, wind and sea in between. Rather than simply stopping at the lighthouse, the journey continues around the surrounding terrain by Jeep, revealing different perspectives of the coastline and one of the island’s most striking panoramas. A place shaped by the wind, guided by the sea, and made to be explored.

  3. Prophet Elias Chapel

The Highest Point of Mykonos The journey climbs towards Prophet Elias, the highest point of Mykonos, rising approximately 370 metres above sea level. From here, the island reveals itself from an entirely different perspective — its hills, scattered whitewashed houses, distant beaches and the deep blue of the Aegean stretching towards the neighbouring Cycladic islands. Away from the familiar coastal routes, the landscape becomes quieter, rougher and more untouched. From the highest point of Mykonos, the island is no longer simply explored — it unfolds beneath you.

  4. Ftelia Beach

Where the Road Meets the Sand Descending towards Ftelia, the landscape begins to change. The paved road gives way to sandy tracks carved naturally through the terrain, leading the Jeep towards one of Mykonos’ most open and windswept beaches. We follow the trails close to the shoreline, allowing the landscape — sand, wind and sea — to become part of the drive itself, before climbing once again through the rugged countryside towards Paleokastro and the island’s interior. Here, the journey becomes part of the destination.

    20 minutes here

  5. Fokos Beach

A Landscape You Would Never Expect Leaving the familiar image of Mykonos behind, the road reaches the remote landscape surrounding the Ano Mera Dam. Here, the scenery changes completely — rugged rock formations, dry earth and an almost cinematic wilderness create a setting that feels far removed from the whitewashed island most people know. The Jeep follows the unpaved road through this raw landscape, with the reservoir appearing unexpectedly between the hills, before continuing deeper into the countryside towards Fokos. For a moment, it hardly feels like Mykonos at all.

    30 minutes here

  6. Fokos Beach

The Wild Side of Mykonos At the end of the rugged road, the landscape suddenly opens onto Fokos — one of the island’s most secluded and unspoiled beaches. Far from the cosmopolitan side of Mykonos, there are no rows of sunbeds or beach clubs here. Just golden sand, dramatic rocky hills and the open Aegean, surrounded by a landscape that has remained beautifully untouched. Arriving by Jeep is part of the experience itself, following the remote tracks until the sea finally appears ahead. Wild, quiet and wonderfully unexpected — Mykonos at its most natural.

  7. Agia Anna

A Quiet Moment Before the Journey Home Just above Fokos, in the peaceful area of Myrsini, a small chapel of Agia Anna offers the perfect final pause to our journey. Here, we slow things down. Enjoy a chilled homemade lemonade, step inside to light a candle, and take a moment beneath the Mykonian breeze, surrounded by the quiet landscape of the island’s northeast. No sightseeing checklist, no rush — simply a moment to take it all in before beginning the journey back. A quiet ending to a road that revealed a very different Mykonos.

A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.

How much does A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos cost?

+

Prices start at €450 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.

Is A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does A Jeep Safari Experience Mykonos start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santorini?

+

On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Tailor-Made Santorini Land Tour with a Local Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santorini?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santorini?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+

Included: 3-hour private Jeep Safari Tour; Jeep Wrangler vehicle; Wi-Fi on board; Open-top experience, weather permitting; and Bottled water for each guest. Not included: Food, beverages and personal expenses. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
