    Wonderful Trip With Florence!

Florence was waiting with a sign at the cruise terminal for me and my wife as we arrived. She was such a wonderful, happy and knowledgeable guide who spoke very good English, making our trip with her such a delight. She took us directly to the cruise boat where the staff had prepared lunch for the two of us consisting of shrimp, fish, fruit, fries, salad, noodles and a seafood soup. Way more than we could eat but all delicious. We then docked at the cave island where Florence took the two of us through taking pictures of us and explaining all about the cave. She then took us to a second cave before getting back on the boat and cruising the bay. After the trip was over, she sent uss the photos she had taken and as a wonderful bonus, created a short video from our pictures accompanied by the song "Hello Vietnam". We couldn't have had a better experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you for joining our Halong Bay shore excursion and for sharing such heartfelt feedback! We are delighted Florence made the day so joyful and informative for you and your wife, from the cruise terminal greeting and generous lunch to the cave visits, bay cruise, photos, and thoughtful video keepsake. It was a pleasure to host you both, and we are so glad the experience became such a special memory. A portion of your booking helps provide meals for children in Hanoi hospitals. Thank you for helping us give back to the community. Warmly, Up Travel Vietnam

    An unexpected private tour

Booked this thinking this was a normal tour. The operator mentioned this was for excursions for cruise tours. They made it a private tour and I had the whole boat to myself - now that's an idea for a private party. The location is less busier than the popular tour to Surprising & Loun cave which is full of tourists and Ti Top island. A great choice for those who enjoy space to themselves. I toured the whole cave to myself and the tour guides.

Response from the operator: Thank you for joining our Halong Bay shore excursion and for sharing your experience! We are glad our team could turn the day into a private, spacious tour, with the boat, quieter route, and cave visit giving you plenty of room to enjoy the bay at your own pace. It was a pleasure to host you, and we truly appreciate your kind feedback. A portion of your booking helps provide meals for children in Hanoi hospitals. Thank you for helping us give back to the community. Warm regards, Up Travel Vietnam

A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does A Day in Paradise: Halong Bay Shore Excursion start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
