A must do while in HHI!

Mark was awesome! Learned a lot and saw some cute dolphins! It was a gorgeous night and there’s nothing better than being on water in the early evening. Will definitely do again!

    Could not recommend this more!

Captain Mark was amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable about dolphins and the HHI area. He even let our tour go a couple extra minutes so we could see dolphins strand feeding! Definitely the best part of our trip! Could not recommend this more!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Colin! It was a lot of fun having the family out exploring. I'm always happy to keep us out a bit longer as long we're having fun, and seeing strand feeding up close is a treat onto itself! Really appreciate you all coming out and hope to see you again soon!

    Captain Mark’s Dolphin Tour

Captain Mark is great and very informative about the local dolphin population and ecosystem! We saw many dolphins up close to the boat and observed most interesting dolphin behaviors. I highly recommend Captain Mark’s tour!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Howard! I greatly appreciate you coming out on the water with me. The dolphins have been everywhere this week. really enjoyed having the family out and look forward to seeing again next season!

Private small boat dolphin tour was amazing.

After a small problem finding our operator, this turned out to be a really great trip. Captain Mark was a personable and knowledgeable guide, and we saw a large number of dolphins including some memorable moments. Our great grandkids (21 years old) from Colorado said it was the most amazing part of our trip to Hilton Head.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Ron! It was great having the family out on the water exploring. Very happy to hear the grand kids had a blast! It's not uncommon for folks to mistake our departure dock for the marina next door, and it's one of the reasons I ask folks to include a phone number where they can receive text messages when booking. You'll get a text message the day before our trip with a link to dock location via google maps, as well as a second text on the day of the trip that includes a picture of the entrance to the boat landing. Thanks again for coming out with me, and I hope to see you next year!

    Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely day out on the water with Captain Mark. He was great with our three kids, and we saw literally a dozen or more dolphins. I like the private option because then we didn't have to wait on anyone and the experience felt more personal. It was wonderful- highly recommend if you are in HHI!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Janice! It was wonderful having the family out on the water finding dolphins. I agree that having a private tour is the way to go; having the boat to yourselves and free to personalize the tour (if someone is more interested in birds, or history, etc). Really enjoyed having you all out and look forward to seeing you again!

90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hilton Head Island.

How much does 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island cost?

    +

Prices start at $289 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hilton Head Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hilton Head Island is not rushed.

Is 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 604 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hilton Head Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Around 211 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hilton Head Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hilton Head Island and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 90-Minute Private Dolphin Tour in Hilton Head Island start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hilton Head Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Hilton Head sells dolphin and sunset cruises out of Broad Creek, kayak and boat trips through Lowcountry salt marsh, bike rentals for the island trail network and shrimping demonstrations. On Outty we rank every Hilton Head Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Hilton Head Guided Kayak Nature Tour, Hilton Head Island Dolphin Boat Cruise, Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?

    +

March to May and September to November, warm without peak summer crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hilton Head Island?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
