The trek has a distance of 66 KM in total, starting from Taluka to the end point at Janki Chatti. It takes 6 to 7 days to complete the trek on foot. Thus we will walk around 10 KM on average everyday. The altitude of Taluka, where the trek starts from, is 6,825 feet (2080 meters). We thus have a net altitude gain of 9,250 feet (2,820 meters) over a duration of 5 days, thus climbing average of 550 meters a day or 1800 feet. That is a considerable altitude gain. The distance, altitude gain and finally the technical pass crossing make Bali Pass fall in the category of a Difficult trek. It requires physical preparation and regular exercises that must be started at least 1 month prior to trekking to the Bali Pass

Borasu Bali Passes Experience
I went for a trekking to Borasu ane Bali passes with Himalayan Shelter from 9th to 18th October 2026 and had the most incredible & memorable experiences. All arrangements for the high altitude trekking were meticulously done right from transportation, tents, food and safety gears. The itinerary was also customised to the best of my needs. Both the guides Chainsingh and Sandeep were kind and knowledgeable; they were very good companions. The cook Parvesh PK was as usual thoroughly professional; food was super yummy with lot of variety and he knew my taste buds( this is my second trip with him). I am coming back with unforgettable memories and experiences. Highly recommend Himalayan Shelter for customised trips. Am planning for more high altitude treks with them in the coming years.Special mention of Manav and Bacchan jee for planning this so well.

Guide's negligence led to dislocated shoulder, fracture, and surgery
I want to share my experience on the Bali Pass trek with Himalaya Shelter (May 30th), as I think future trekkers should know before booking. During the trek, I fell three times on difficult terrain, and each time our guide, Sonu, offered no assistance — no support crossing tricky sections, no warning about hazards, nothing. On my third fall, I dislocated my shoulder and sustained a fracture. Instead of stopping to help or assess the injury, Sonu simply told me to catch up and continued on ahead. I was left to manage a dislocation and fracture with no real support. For the rest of the trek, I was accompanied by only a single support staff member, with no water provided. Sonu's overall attitude was dismissive and rude throughout, not just after the injury — I never felt like safety or wellbeing was a priority for him. A trek at this difficulty level requires a guide who is attentive and responsible, especially in dangerous stretches. That was completely absent here. As a direct result of the guide's carelessness, I now have to undergo surgery for my shoulder. I would not recommend Himalaya Shelter or trekking with Sonu unless you're confident you won't need any assistance along the way.

Himalaya Shelter ROCKS..
27th May 2026.. date saved as Bali Pass Summit with HIMALAYA SHELTER. It was our 04th trek with Himalaya Shelter & as experienced earlier, everything was just superb viz camps, foods, trek management, guide.. SONU (the Trek Leader/Guide), with his experience & acumen, made the trek even more enjoyable & doable. He pushed & motivated us all throughout the trek. Overall an excellent experience with Himalaya Shelter team. Will suggest everyone to go with Himalaya Shelter and see it themselves. All thanks to HIMALAYA SHELTER.

Bali Pass trek from Sankri to Yamunotri!
The journey began for the Bali Pass with this wonderful group, led by Rana, who understood our needs and executed everything in detail with an exceptional quality of sensitivity and at the same time with a strong ability and flexibility that made us feel comfortable and safe. The landscape at Bali Pass and the entire route we followed from Sankri to its end at Yamunotri is of indescribable beauty! The majestic Himalayan mountains with their regal sturdiness, the river that starts calmly and grows wilder as you climb in altitude, the ever-changing nature throughout the journey—everything spoke to your heart and soul! It was so moving to be immersed in the purest form of nature and to share it with the companions you love, living it with the care and respect we received from these remarkable people! Great experience
We just completed 7 days Bali pass trek with Himalayan Shelter. It is really a challenging trek, but with the help of staffs of Himalayan Shelter it became a fun. Our guide was Suresh Chauhan, a very professional and well trained guide. All other staffs are well behaved and helpful. They helped us beyond their scope. I being a himalayan trekker of more than 27 years felt the same old Garhwali warmness hospitality with the group which I was habituate with. Thanks Mr. Bachan Rana to form a company with people who are rejuvenating the same old memories. Over to that we had a great trek mates. We became friends forever. Thanks a lot everyone.
