Tour was disappointing due to the tour guide
Our tour guide Mostafa reached us 1 hour late (pick up time 8am but was almost 9am when he arrived), and still wasted extra time queueing to pump petrol, stopping to get coffee for himself, and go to an ATM to top up his credit card - don't know why these were all not prepared for beforehand. This made us reach Giza quite late when it was already quite crowded. It seemed like the time management wasn’t very good as the tour guide assured us we would have sufficient time for the camel rides, but this made us almost miss entering the Great Pyramid before it closed for maintenance break! He also tried to ask us to skip Dashur due to the time, but we insisted so we did manage to go. We found his accent hard to understand, and disappointingly he didn't give us much information at each site even though the pyramids hold so much potential for great storytelling - just basic facts like when it was built, for whom, its height, which we could easily find online. He also did not seem to understand our English well, like when at Saqqara, he didn’t understand when we asked if we could just visit 1 tomb, and for a recommendation of which tomb to visit. Because he could not understand us, we ended up not visiting any tomb. At the end we were reluctant to tip him due to the service we felt was not that good (we did tip but not as much as he expected), but he asked for more tips saying he spent extra time with us on this tour. We began at 9am and ended at 5.30pm – Viator stated that this tour was 8 hours long, so it’s within the usual tour duration. The extra half an hour could have been avoided by all the queueing and time wasted at the beginning. Anyway, we liked the sites, which is where the 2 stars come from, but the experience with the tour guide made us feel unsatisfied with this tour. Regret not booking a better tour guide.

Wonderful one day trip!! Sayed Mahmoud is the terrific guide tour and Abdolah mohamed is a good driver. Lunch os also supet tasty. So enjoying today!

The private tour was very...
The private tour was very good, we got to see all the pyramids and had a chauffeur the entire journey. The guide took many photos and was very friendly. We would have appreciated more information on history of the pyramids and ancient Egypt as we felt that was slightly limited. Additionally, we were not aware before the tour that we were to do a camel ride at Giza, which also included extra cost - this should’ve been communicated before.
