Insightful

Our guide Kei was extremely knowledgeable in explaining Japanese history culture and the city surrounds- exceeded our expectations. I felt honoured to have him as our guide and can’t wait to learn more! Highly recommend

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We are so happy to know that you enjoyed our tour. Japan is a country with a long history, and it's not easy for visitors to fully understand it, but with a good guide, you can understand it much better. We believe that a better understanding of Japanese history will make your stay in Japan more fulfilling. We would be very happy to assist such visitors.

Great guide…strenuous 8 hrs!

We had a wonderful time. Kei was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and good English. I highly recommend Kei. We saw so many sights. Kei helped us get discounted 3 day tourist subway passes and we are now Tokyo subway travel experts. Warning-this is an 8-hr walking tour! My wife and I had fit bits and we measured over 24,000 steps each, maybe 10 miles, much up and down subway stairs. This is NOT an easy tour but you see a lot in 8 hours! Maybe 4 or 6 hours is appropriate for most travelers…just realistic! Again, many kudos to Kei!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We are happy to know that you enjoyed the tour. As you said, an 8-hour walking tour might be a bit hard for many people, and 4- or 6-hour tour would be more realistic. However, for those who are confident in their physical stamina and want to fully enjoy Tokyo, we recommend the 8-hour tour.

Best intro to Tokyo!

Nobu san was our guide and we really enjoyed his knowledge as we visited so many sites! Temples. Shrines, Gardens, etc. it was exactly what we wanted for an intro to Tokyo! As much as we enjoyed not staring at Google Maps to navigate, we also loved learning from his insights!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We are so happy to know that you enjoyed our tour. Tokyo is an attractive city for many tourists. But we think that learning a little about its history and culture will make your stay even more enjoyable. It is a great pleasure for us to help tourists in this way. Nobu

Excellent guided tour

We liked the guided tour with our guide Koba san very much! The Communication before the tour via email was easy with fast responses. We meet in time in our hotel. The program is very flexibel and was arranged as per our wishes. Our guide Koba san was very knowledgable, very kind and helpful. We learned a lot about japanese way of life. The schedule of the tour was adapted as per our needs and we made sufficient breaks. Overall a very good experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We are so happy that you enjoyed our tour. Tokyo is a fascinating city, but it's even more fascinating with a good guide. We are always looking to provide our guests with an enjoyable stay in Tokyo. Office Zipang

8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport cost?

+

Prices start at $3000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 8-hour Tokyo tour by qualified tour guide using public transport start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
