This June, a one-off annual tour turns Ontario into your very own playground for 8 days of camping, hiking, swimming, and paddling fun. Stand tall at the edge of the world, ride the rapids, cycle a historic former railway line, and discover sunken shipwrecks aboard a glass bottom boat. No guest preparation is needed, no equipment, not even a sleeping bag/pad. Lake Fever offers budget travelers free transportation, camp-cooked meals, and good old fashioned campfires, but *please be advised, on this particular tour guests will be expected to share in cooking/dishes duties at least once (also, all meals aside from restuarants will be vegetarian).* Sightseers can enjoy access to the Canadian wilderness for a unique opportunity that would otherwise take a lot of planning and money to arrange (not to worry, first-timers will learn the basics of camping). Cross the great Canadian road trip off your bucket list. Who knows, it may be your once-in-a-lifetime experience.

    Best camping experience

Last year (2024), we went camping with Lake Fever Wilderness, and after that experience, we knew we had to do the Bucket Lister this year. So we went, and it was beyond fantastic. Damian, our guide, takes care of everything, allowing you to have the best possible experience at each Ontario park you visit. It was hard to pick my favorite part, but we started at Sandbanks Provincial Park, and I didn’t want to leave. It was so calm and beautiful. The hike and the beach were definitely the highlights, but even before that, the wine tasting and the food showed us how great the trip was going to be. Bon Echo will literally take your breath away, and Damian is right there to help with the canoe or anything else you need. Algonquin is a must-see if you're visiting Ontario, and Damian’s patience, fun energy, and kindness make sure you experience the park in the best possible way. The hikes were incredible, and on a heavy rainy day, he was ready to adapt, taking us to the Visitor Centre for an amazing experience. Bruce Peninsula will continue to impress you, and once again, you’ll feel reassured knowing Damian is there to support you with anything you need. We finished the trip in Elora. I was a bit unsure about tubing on the river, but once again, Damian made sure we had a great time. He even knows the perfect spots to stop and take incredible photos of you while you float down the river. I highly recommend Lake Fever Wilderness. They will ensure you have the best time of your life. Damian’s patience and kindness are things I’ll forever be grateful for. The food is amazing, the company is fantastic, the s'mores around the campfire, and the knowledge our guide shared made it even more memorable. The trip was a round trip from Toronto, and the saddest part was returning to the city after 8 unforgettable days. This trip is so well thought, every detail, I absolutely had he best time. Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thanks, Alma! Us guides don't always have the great pleasure of making such an immediate rapport with groups to be able to truly let loose on every trip, but having you guys there made it really easy on this tour. I'm grateful to now have lots of nice memories and photos with the two of you. Such a fun week!

A week to chill and enjoy

I had the chance to do several trips with Lake Fever Wilderness in 2024 and 2025, and I highly recommend it to anyone aiming to discover the beautiful nature of Ontario. Your guide, Damian, is really an amazing guy! He is chill and funny, he cooks well, always knows how to adapt the program or the food to special requirements, and he is also prepared for the unexpected (for instance when a raccoon stole our pop-corn in the middle of the night ;-) Among the various trips I made with Damian, the Bucket Lister is definitely the one I enjoyed the most because you really have time to discover many different places without rushing. I remember that I turned on the holiday mode at the Big Apple on the very first morning. After that, time passed really too quickly!

Response from the operator: Thanks Sebastien! Next year we'll set up a raccoon alarm system, so I don't have to make chase into the woods again 😂

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Toronto.

How much does 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister") cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,333 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Toronto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister") take?

    +

Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Toronto is not rushed.

Is 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister") worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Toronto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister")?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister") suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister")?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Toronto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Toronto and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 8-Day Ontario Camping Road Trip ("The Bucket Lister") start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Toronto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Toronto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Toronto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Niagara Falls Tour from Toronto: Boat Ride & Journey Behind Falls, Niagara Falls Canada Day Tour From Toronto + Boat Cruise Option, Niagara Falls Day Tour from Toronto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Toronto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Toronto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
