This tour requires the...
This tour requires the purchase of two domestic flights which isn't specified in the description. We took this trip in Jan. 2026 and found Peru to be a beatiful country, with amazing sights and expert guides. Highly recommend a visit to Peru but we probably would not travel with this company again. It was a bit confusing as we sometimes we were not told what time we would be picked up for our tours. We were always chasing information from our contact on Whats app. On a couple of occasions payment would be required on the bus on the way to an activity that was included. The company did refund this later, but this is something we were not expecting. The description also specifies that you will experience the view from the train on the way to Machu picchu however our tickets were scheduled after dark so we missed that part. Overall it was just a bit unorganized and confusing.
Response from the operator: Dear Mrs Jane Smith. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for visiting Peru with us. We truly appreciate your kind words about our beautiful country, the sights, and our expert guides — this means a lot to our team. We are sorry to hear that some parts of the experience felt confusing and not as smooth as expected. Our intention is always to provide a well-organized and stress-free journey, and we sincerely apologize for any moments where communication was not as clear as it should have been. Regarding the coordination, we were in contact with you almost throughout the trip via WhatsApp, however we acknowledge that we missed the Puno pick-up confirmation, and we take responsibility for that oversight. We are already improving our internal processes to avoid this in the future. About the payments, all tours and services included in the itinerary were indeed provided as promised. In the few cases where a payment was requested by local operators, this was an operational mistake and, as you mentioned, we refunded you immediately. We agree this should not have happened and we apologize for the inconvenience. Concerning the train to Machu Picchu, train schedules are subject to availability and demand, especially in high season. Unfortunately, in your case the only confirmed option was an evening departure, which affected the scenic view. We understand your disappointment and will make this clearer for future travelers. Your feedback is very valuable to us, as it helps us improve our service and communication. We are glad you enjoyed Peru and its highlights, and we truly regret that some logistical aspects affected your overall perception of our company. We wish you all the best in your future travels and thank you again for choosing Peru as your destination. Warm regards, Edgar Sotomayor Machu Picchu Peru Journeys

Amazing 8-Day Peru Adventure with Friends
We booked the 8-day tour with Machupicchu Perú Journeys, and it was honestly one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. Every stop from Machu Picchu to Rainbow Mountain and Lake Titicaca was breathtaking. The guides were locals, super knowledgeable, and shared so many interesting stories about Inca history and Peruvian culture. Everything was very well organized, from transportation to meals and hotels. Traveling with friends made it even better, we laughed, hiked, and learned so much together. Highly recommend this agency if you want a smooth, authentic, and unforgettable Peru experience

Trip in Peru
The service was attentive! Whenever we encountered any issues, they actively assisted us in resolving them. Every day, they presented different new options for us to choose from, allowing us to enjoy the best possible experience. The private guides in Lima and Cusco to Machu Picchu were outstanding—especially the one at Machu Picchu! His service was thorough, and his attitude was sincere and professional. He provided immediate assistance whenever we faced difficulties. However, the private guide at Machu Picchu was rather perfunctory. He did not demonstrate a professional attitude and offered little explanation of the sights during the tour. As for the contact person, he followed up diligently every day and helped us resolve many issues. Whenever we reached out, he did his best to answer our questions and provided wholehearted service. We do have a small suggestion for the company: it would be ideal to provide more detailed explanations of the itinerary before departure—for example, which activities can be upgraded with additional payment, and to inform us in advance of the daily departure times. This would allow customers to prepare sufficient funds for premium services and coordinate with the contact person ahead of time. That way, we can avoid having to discuss the next day's itinerary when we’re already physically and mentally tired after a day of activities.
Response from the operator: Hi, Mrs, Shuet W. Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback! 🌄 We are glad to hear that our team provided attentive and responsive service, helping you resolve any issues and offering a variety of options each day to ensure you had the best possible experience in Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the guide at Machu Picchu. At MachuPicchu Peru Journeys, we strive to provide highly professional and knowledgeable guides for every tour, and we will use your comments to improve our training and ensure all guides meet the highest standards of service and historical interpretation. Your suggestion about providing more detailed itineraries and advance information on optional activities is excellent, and we will work to implement this so future travelers can plan and enjoy their Peru adventures seamlessly. It will be a pleasure to have you, your friends, family, and co-workers in Peru, and we will give the best service possible in all of Peru, creating unforgettable experiences from Cusco and the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu and beyond. 🇵🇪✨ – MachuPicchu Peru Journeys | Specialist Tours by Experienced Locals | Trusted Experts for Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and all Perú Tours

Unprofessional tour agency
This was a package tour: every day with another tour operator and the agency should have organised everything. Edgar, my tour organiser was really nice and supportive: he helped me to upgrade the train ticket to Macchu Picchu, organised a tour to the rainbow mountains with 4WD-ATV and helped me prolonging my stay in Lima because my flight was cancelled. But even his engagement could not compensate the problems in the organisation: - when I arrived at Machu Picchu train station, nobody was waiting me. I had to find my hotel myself; - it turned out in the very last moment that there was no guided tour organised for me in Machu Picchu. I was forced to take a private guide and paid for it additionally $40; - I almost missed my bus to Puno because of delayed transfer; - nobody was waiting for me at the Puno bus station. I could not reach anybody at the travel agency on phone. After 40 minutes waiting at the bus station finally came a driver and brought me to a hotel which was not the same I was told before, but a cheaper one. - There was no English speaking guide on the tour at the Titicaca lake; - It turned out in the last moment that there was no sightseeing tour organised for me in Lima. Finally I was given $40 to organise my sightseeing tour myself. - It turned out in the last moment that my hotel in Lima was changed, too. I had to cancel and rebook all my programs for the new hotel. Summarising my experiences: my contact Edgar was supporting and engaged, but the tour agency was working very unprofessional.
Response from the operator: Dear Kalman, Thank you for your feedback and please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences during your trip. The main difficulties you experienced were due to recent strikes and operational problems with the local bus and train companies in Machu Picchu, which unfortunately affected coordination. We are very grateful for your kind words about Edgar, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Your comments help us improve our service and avoid similar situations in the future. Warm regards. Rafael S.

8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lima.
How much does 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca cost?
+
Prices start at $1267 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lima usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lima is not rushed.
Is 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Lima, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 192-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 8-Day Best-Selling Peru Tour: Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mt & Titicaca start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lima within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lima?
+
On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Peruvian Cooking Class, Local Market Tour & Exotic Fruit Tasting, The Complete Lima Experience: History, Culture & Flavors, #1 Rated Lima Cooking Class: Make Ceviche, Causa & Pisco Sours!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
