- Aswan was the source of ancient Egypt’s finest granite, used to make statues and embellish temples, pyramids, and obelisks. Nile Cruise Good with some booking issues
14day holiday to Hurghada inclusive of a 7day Nile Cruise, Luxor Aswan in February flight 5 May 2026. The cruise was sandwiched between a 4day and 3day stay in Hurghada. Booked with Travelodeal who used an Egyptian Travel Agency Hvezda I would recommend this trip but to be undertaken Oct- April due to the high temperatures in Luxor and Aswan but be aware of the following: 1 Negotiations with Travelodeal: Customer Advisor good, after much deliberation chose 5 Star Caribbean hotel Soma Bay and cruise ship Royal Adventure inclusive of excursions priced accordingly. We accepted the quote however a couple of hours later the confirmed price had increased by £300 then to be told the package did not include the hold baggage we requested and cost increased again. 2 Holiday: Flight and Transfer to hotel good, Egyptian agent on way to the hotel advised that there was problem with hotel payment due to bank transfer problems but first night paid by cash and not to be concerned. (We had paid in full in February) Although not a concern we had problems booking A La Carte restaurants as not on system other couples had the same experience Ship not Royal Adventure as booked but Royal la Terrasse no reason given for change. Cruise cannot be faulted however excursions a shambles: We had a full-time guide on board contracted by Egyptian Agent, 3 Excursions 1st Day Hot Air Balloon excellent, valley of Kings good (Guide had to purchase tickets using his own money) 2nd Day Edfu Trip programmed for 7, up early for breakfast to be told at 6.50 cancelled to be undertaken on return journey as he had not received tickets. Visit to Kom Ombo programmed for 17.00 prepared only to be told at 16.50 cancelled as he had not received tickets - to be undertaken on return Journey 4th Day Aswan dam trip advised leaving at 10 told after breakfast by guide had received tickets returned after lunch finished but it remained open for us. However, questionable was it programmed earlies but delayed due to ticket problems again. The 2 cancelled trips were rearranged on the return journey but Edfu trip programmed for 5a.m. not 7a.m. as planned, ship sailed as soon as we returned, The Cancelled trips meant that we had 2 on the penultimate day and we asked could we exchange the Luxor East bank (afternoon Trip) to a cheaper evening trip no refund expected but were advise it would be an additional £25 each, - not taken up On excursions we would suggest booking in resort and get full details Return trip from Luxor good however 30min from Hotel Agent informed us that another couple and ourselves had been booked in another hotel The Titanic Beach (an upgrade??) Why? as we had no complaints on our hotel (this happened to another couple on the trip who were booked in another hotel) On my return to Uk, I wrote a detailed review to Travelodeal, they responded (a) that prices are dynamic and changes should be expected !!! (b) What happened in Egypt is the norm and should be expected, on my previous trips to Egypt we have not encountered such problems. The question is why choose a ship and hotel if they are not guaranteed? As I reported at the start this trip is well worth booking but would shop around and compare other travel companies; offerings Add some photos Optional Reach a Photos y of

What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Hurghada Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip With Lunch & Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
