7 day adventure experience with family in Uganda.

As parents of teenagers aged 15 and 17, this 7-day mid-range safari in Uganda with Salt Holidays was perfect for us. We started in Kibale tracking habituated chimpanzees- the kids were thrilled watching them. Bwindi gorilla trek was the emotional peak, the hike built anticipation, then sitting with a habituated group was humbling-silverback staring right at us. Queen Elizabeth National Park brought the Big 4 action: lions on the prowl, elephant herds, leopards in trees, plus a boat cruise on the channel full of hipo and beautiful birds. Lake Mburo provided a relaxing ending-it was really exciting to see the animals on foot with a healthy guided walking safari free from truck emissions. Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. We walk to learn about footprints by our professional guide and a beautiful sunset. The mid-range accommodations were quite comfortable: clean family rooms, fresh breakfast, and the staff took great care of us. Overall Salt Holidays was very responsible and their hospitality made our journey memorable.

Wonderful journey & Salt professionally managed.

We had the opportunity to go on a 7-day safari in Uganda, where we went primate tracking and saw savannah wildlife, and it was our best experience. Our 7 day journey made by Salt Holidays maintenance team. Their perfect guidelines and helpful guide made our journey easy, safe and memorable. We started at Kibale National Park, chimpanzee tracking required patience. Our ranger explained their behavior in detail, which made the encounter educational rather than just exciting. Then Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the gorilla trek was the emotional center of our trip. Seeing a mother gorilla groom her infant only a short distance away was unforgettable. Queen Elizabeth National Park provided classic safari game drives, where we observed elephants crossing dusty tracks and buffalo resting in groups. Our lodge was awesome and the staff were hospitable. Lake Mburo National Park offered a quieter finish, with zebras grazing near our lodge. Undoubtedly it was the best adventure time with my family.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review of your safari with Salt Holidays. We’re truly delighted that your 7-day adventure in Uganda was such a memorable experience for you and your family. It’s great to hear that chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park was both exciting and educational, and that your gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park became the emotional highlight of your journey. We’re also glad you enjoyed the classic game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park and the peaceful scenery of Lake Mburo National Park. Your kind words about our team, guides, and lodge staff mean a lot to us. Thank you for choosing Salt Holidays to plan your family adventure. We hope to welcome you back to Uganda again for another unforgettable safari in the future!

This vacation time with my family was unforgettable in Uganda.

Our family of four (kids 11 and 14) finished our this 7-day Uganda midrange primate and wildlife safari with Salt Holidays. It was our best vacation to spend time with my family. The chimpanzee tracking at Kibale was lively - the kids loved chasing the pack through the forest and seeing the mothers with their babies. The gorilla experience at Bwindi was intense but rewarding, the one hour viewing experience flew by as we watched them feed and play. Bwindi gorilla trekking tested our legs but delivered, being that near a family group felt really special. Queen Elizabeth National Park was the action-packed part, lions, elephants, buffaloes on game drives, and a boat cruise where we saw tons of hippos and birds. Our guide was amazing, very professional and patient with the children's endless questions and always finding the best views. Lake Mburo was a relaxing end-zebras roaming, walking safari learning tracks, and birdwatching. We were very satisfied with Salt Holidays. And we got a authentic experience. We would like to recommend this safari trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled your family had such a memorable adventure in Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Lake Mburo National Park. It means a lot to hear that the experiences — especially the primate tracking and wildlife encounters — made this your best family vacation. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with your guide as well. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Uganda again someday!

Authentic Africa!! Amazing journey through Western Uganda.

Our journey through western Uganda was truly unforgettable. Guided by the exceptionally skilled and warm-hearted Joseph, we explored the region’s diverse wonders over the course of a week. From tracking chimpanzees in the north, to an exhilarating boat adventure in the central region, to encountering majestic mountain gorillas in the south—every moment exceeded our expectations. Joseph brought the landscapes to life, facilitated awe-inspiring encounters with wildlife, and introduced us to the warm, welcoming Ugandan people, whose radiant smiles left a lasting impression. Thank you, Joseph, for an extraordinary experience. We can’t wait to return! Bob

7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kampala.

How much does 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $4,068 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kampala usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kampala is not rushed.

Is 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kampala, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kampala can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kampala and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7 days Uganda Midrange Primate and Wildlife Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kampala within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kampala?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kampala experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kampala’s Best Experience walking tour, Kampala Walking City Tours (Women-Guided), Kampala Heart of Walking Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kampala?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kampala?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
