About this experience

Take this 7 days journey to the most untouched area in Greece, directly from Athens. The relative small human impact, the rare flora and fauna of the area, and thanks to its wild and unspoiled nature makes this place unique. We will cross the impressive Vikos gorge, located in the heart of the National Park, and listed in Guinness as the deepest gorge in the world. We will visit Zagori, a mountainous region of stunning beauty, one of the most strictly protected areas in Greece. As the region remained cut off from the rest of the country for decades, you will not find here signs of massive tourism. We will visit and stay at some of the picturesque stone villages of Zagori, a masterpiece of traditional architecture, ideal for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. Finally we will go for rafting in Voidomatis river, ranked as one of the cleanest rivers in Europe and enjoy the stunning nature of the area while paddling through turquoise crystal clear waters.

Meticulously planned trip, with great scenery and some great hiking

Konstantinos’s level of service, local knowledge and expertise were second to none, and he planned every detail meticulously. As a nervous car passenger, he put my mind at ease and ensured that we arrived our destination safely, with plenty of stops on the way. We stayed at some lovely guest houses, which I wouldn’t have been able to even begin to know how to book, and he chose some excellent, varied food for us to try every day. I’m particularly interested in wildlife, and Kostas was able to answer all of my questions. Oh, and the scenery was spectacular!

Response from the operator: Thank you Niki 🙏 we are really glad you enjoyed our trip!!

Couldn't have been better

Nomadspath was a wonderful group to work with. They were communicative, appreciative of the different experience and ability levels of the group, and superbly competent at making all the necessary arrangements. Everyone in our group of our of ten (plus three guides) ended up feeling like family. They also fed us incredibly well, including the most interesting, diverse, and ample lunch we had during our 3 weeks in Greece.

Response from the operator: Thank you dear William! We hope you totally enjoy your stay in Greece!

Vikos -Aoos adventure

Having been to quite a few group hiking holidays this one was far the best one. Very friendly guides, everything was very well organised, I felt like I am in my own country at some point.. Would highly recommend Nomadspath for your active holiday in Greece.

Response from the operator: Dear Sonia, Thank you for your kind words 🙏 we are really happy you enjoyed your time in Greece!!!

Gorgeous Trip to Vikos-Aoos National Park

The trip itself was gorgeous. But more than that, was the company. Mike was not only a knowledgeable and experienced guide - he is the most relaxed and relatable person to have led this journey. It felt like a group of friends going on an adventure. This was a priceless experience. Thanks so, so much!

Response from the operator: Thank you dear Rachel 🙂

7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens cost?

+

Prices start at $1300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens take?

+

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 168-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7 days Journey to Vikos-Aoos National Park from Athens start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

+

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
