Now is the time to visit Jordan

Two of us just returned from an unforgettable week in Jordan all arranged by Khaled. So lucky to visit the sites (especially Petra) without being swamped by tour groups. Khaled booked us into a wonderful homestay in Ajouln where our host walked us through flower-filled meadows and Roman olive groves. His wife taught us how to cook their national dish. I went riding in the mountains above Little Petra on a beautiful Arabian mare. Given the current situation, things didn’t always go to plan but Khaled was there for us 24/7 and swiftly rearranged our itinerary. My recommendation would be to request a driver who speaks good English (if that’s your language) and one or two site guides in the most important places. And go to Jordan soon. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and the country is 100% safe.

Response from the operator: Dear David and Victoria, Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review, it really means a lot. I’m truly happy to hear that your week in Jordan was such a memorable experience, and that you were able to enjoy places like Petra without the crowds. It’s a special time to visit, and I’m glad you got to experience that. Your time in Ajloun sounds wonderful, the homestay, the walks through the meadows and olive groves, and learning to cook local dishes are exactly the kind of authentic experiences we love to share. And riding in the hills around Little Petra must have been something really special as well. I also really appreciate your understanding regarding the few changes along the way. It was important for me to make sure everything continued smoothly, and I’m glad you felt supported throughout. Thank you as well for your helpful tips to future travelers, they’re truly valuable. A special thank you as well for encouraging others to visit Jordan during this time. It genuinely makes a difference, especially for local communities and families who rely heavily on tourism. Your support means a great deal to many people here. It was a real pleasure arranging this trip for you, and you’re always welcome back to Jordan. Warm regards, On behalf of the Plato Tours & Travel team, this is Khaled Masadeh extending our sincere appreciation.

    +

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amman?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amman?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
