Go for it!
Butterflies are wonderful. Hike and ride to get there are very good. And we were able to wait for the cloud to dissipate and sun to come out so we were able to see them! Ethereal experience. The bus ride not so much. Aarons bus looked great with leather seats. Seat backs were not adjustable, they laid back only, painful for me and there was zero leg room for tall people. Legs splayed to left and right. Not comfortable at all. Vallee de Bravo is beautiful. Our guide Sarah gave us a free day to do whatever. That day would have been nice for all of us to do another butterfly visit that was very close. Or take us to see some of townsite closer to the lake itself. Without a lot of Spanish I found it difficult to navigate. The bus sat and did nothing. Unclear why we as a group could not have another butterfly site as that was the purpose of the trip. Hotel had a restaurant but refused dinner service for 2 nights as there was an event. So it was necessary to go out and find a place to eat. Pitch black road in front of hotel had road construction as well. Large trench and large excavator and loader equipment and dump trucks that we had to navigate around. Slippery soil and mud as well. This construction should be complete now. The hotel itself and grounds were beautiful. The assistance from the hotel staff at LotoAzulHotel was excellent. Hotel staff at Catedral hotel in Mexico City were very helpful. Transfer to hotel from airport, then back to airport were very good.

Wonderful experience in nature and at Ville de Bravo.
The trip was amazing and so was Naara our guide. She took us to a beautiful private butterfly sanctuary. Great restaurants, sad is very knowledgeable about art, nature in the area. It was my birthday during the trip and she made the day very special.

you gotta go!
I had hesitated to go on a tour because I prefer very small groups that allowed free time. When I reached out to the office to ask questions I received prompt and complete answers. I made a couple special requests related to extending my stay and all were met. The week's schedule was very manageable and allowed some free time. Accommodations were satisfactory. The driver was exceptional! He met us late in the evening at the airport, navigated Mexico City and the other towns with ease and then returned us back to the airport very early in the morning for our departure. The van was comfortable for the group. The tour guide really made the trip special. Not only did she explain the migration process of the Monarches, but also in tune with the needs of the individuals of the group. She was light hearted, informed and compassionate all at the same time! Please ask for Hugo as a driver and Naaraiop as a guide. You will not be disappointed!

Trip of a lifetime!
This trip was exactly what I had hoped for and more. You see as many butterflies as you see in books or on TV. It is truly amazing. It is a little rough getting up there if you have breathing or Mobility issues but they let you stop or take your time if you need to. Naara our tour director and Rennan our driver were so knowledgeable about the area and the culture. They also translated for us and let us know areas to avoid for safety. I would highly recommend this trip if you're considering it.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico cost?
+
Prices start at $2695 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico take?
+
Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 168-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 7 Day-Monarch Butterfly Ecofriendly Tour in Mexico start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
