Viva Safaris, you have some truly outstanding guides on your team! A special shout-out to Vic, V, and of course, Smiley! ❤️ You guys made the experience so much fun, made us feel safe, and shared your incredible knowledge with us every step of the way. You are a huge part of what made this safari so amazing! A big thank-you to Walter and the rest of the meal services team for their warm hospitality and delicious food that made us feel right at home! Holiday of a lifetime
Amazing from start to finish! From the moment I booked, communication from Patti Landau, via whatsapp, was excellent, answering all of my queries and providing lots of useful information. Thank you Patti! My pickup by Welcome from Hoedspruit, the local airport, was perfect, he was there waiting after my 24 hours travelling, a most welcome and welcoming sight! The drive to Tremisana was about 30 minutes, where me and 2 other guests were warmly welcomed by Ed. He was also an excellent communicator, making sure at every mealtime that everyone knew when and where to assemble for their next activity. This was no mean feat, as there were multiple groups arriving and departing on different days and for varying lengths of stays. Hats off to whichever juggler keeps all those balls in the air! Also, big shout out to Ed for sorting out my (small) plumbing problem within the hour whilst I was enjoying my dinner! Talking of dinner, massive thanks to all the kitchen staff, delicious 3 course meals every day, the menu was different every day of my 7 day stay. And they were cheerful and welcoming every meal, however late or early. Lastly, the drivers/ guides are fantastic! All have tremendous knowledge and enthusiasm, and answered all of our ( sometimes stupid ) questions with patience and a desire to educate. What was wondrous to us non- South Africans they see every day, but their enthusiasm and love for what they do never seems to wane. I saw the big 5 within the first 2 days, as well as many more animals. It was breathtaking to see such beauty in the wild. A special shout out has to go to Smiley and Whian...on an evening drive, they spent a couple of hours trying to track down a lion they knew to be in the area, but at first had no luck. Then, as the sun was setting, we heard his roar in the distance, and after some thrilling off-road driving from rally driver Smiley, we finally rounded some bushes and there he was! Such a thrill, thanks guys! Overall, I cannot recommend this trip enough. The accomodation isn't luxury by any means, but cisy, ckean and comfortable, and the (little) doqntime I had was mostly spent at the lapa looking out for the visiring elephant and hyena.
Response from the operator: Hi Alison WOW !!!!! We are thrilled to know that Viva Safaris has provided you with a HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME experience !! Thanks for recording your appreciation of Patti, Welcome and Ed. Viva Safaris' reputation is built on professional service and all three are in the very top professional drawer. Thanks for your praise of our delicious 3 course meals lovingly prepared by our cheerful and welcoming chefs. We appreciate your gratitude for our dedicated rangers, who managed to show you the Big Five on Balule Private Reserve within the first two days of your safari. Smiley and Whian are thrilled at your praise of their determination to locate the lions - it shows just how passionate they themselves are in enjoying brilliant wildlife sightings ! We really do appreciate this outstanding recommendation of Viva Safaris. Be well

WOW!!!!!! Hakuna Matata
Thank you for your excellent service during my recent stay at Tremisana Lodge. I had the most amazing experience with Viva Safaris! Ed was the perfect host from communicating each day's schedule to managing our drink orders and any other need that we had throughout our stay. Guides Luke, Smiley, Neal, Raymond, and Andy each made sure that we saw the Big 5 and more. The meals were prepared with excellence and attention to detail. All the staff were professional and always welcoming. Special thanks to Solly who realized that a family member left a bag in the vehicle after we were dropped off at the airport. He quickly contacted our party and returned to the airport before our flights departed. Probably my best vacation ever! Thank you for the memories, Adrienne Quick-Wright
Response from the operator: Hi Adrienne WOW !!!! "Probably my best vacation ever " is the single most complimentary phrase any tour operator dreams of. Thanks for your appreciation of our service, Ed's hosting and the wonderful guiding skills of Luke, Smiley, Neil, Raymond and Andy. We are pleased that Solly, transfer driver, reacted quickly and efficiently to the forgotten bag. Thanks for a great recommendation. Be well

Outstanding!
I will review Viva Safaris and Tremisana Lodge together. To quote Smiley (Viva Guide), WOW! Besides seeing all the animals in the setting in which God intended, the guides really made all the difference to us. They were funny, accommodating, professional, and soooo knowledgeable about the animals and the plants in the area. We learned quite a bit about what would kill or heal us. : ) The ladies that cooked for us were so nice and friendly. The food was delicious and there was always plenty to eat. The accommodations are not considered 5 star, but we didn't plan to spend several days in the bush in lush accommodations. It was clean, well maintained, daily cleaning service, nice pool area (even though a tad chilly when we were there). You spend very little time in your room. Wi-fi is currently only available in the Lapa (dining area). But again, we all need to unplug when you are in Africa. I wouldn't plan on working any at all while there. We felt safe at Tremisana because there is a tall electric fence completely around it. There are monkeys everywhere at the lodge which keeps things interesting. They make for some interesting hi-jinks. Just be sure and keep the door to your room closed. We had no complaints with our stay. So much so that we are going back in 2027. We have had people ask us why we aren't going to a different area. When you have had the experience we had this year, why would we? Special thanks to Smiley, V, Andy and Raymond.
Response from the operator: Hi Barbara Thanks for an OUTSTANDING WOW review ! It is gratifying to know that you enjoyed God’s creation and appreciated the immensely impressive efforts of our guides. Thanks also for your warm comments about our food and accommodation. It is such a GREAT COMPLIMENT to VIVA SAFARIS that you plant to visit us again in 2027, despite being spoilt for choice at other lodges. Smiley, Whian, Andy and Raymond are looking forward to being of service next year. Be well

7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.
How much does 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $1,597 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari take?
+
Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.
Is 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?
+
On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Ultimate Johannesburg Soweto Experience with Apartheid Museum, Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Johannesburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 7 Day Classic Kruger National Park Safari?

Not included: Flight to South Africa; Lunch on transfer days and days in Kruger (we will stop at places where lunch can be purch; Items of a personal nature; and Drinks.
