Did the 6-zipline and wish we had gone for the 12!

We booked the 6-zipline tour directly with Durango Adventures on our trip to CO. Previously we have only done aerial adventures with short ziplines, so I was a bit nervous to do an all-zipline tour with long distances, hence I booked us on the 6 instead of the 12, thinking 6 is plenty enough. On hindsight, we should have done the 12 because I ended up having so much fun. You do need to hike 10-15 minutes uphill at the beginning. Our guides, Emily and Reba, made sure we have breaks and did not rush us. Emily and Reba were super patient. They also have water and snacks available. They are very professional especially when it comes to the harness and all the equpiment. I felt very safe with them. If there are specific instructions for a line, they will first mention it to the whole group, but will repeat the instructions to each person as we launch. I also like the fact that I don't need to worry about breaking - they do the breaking for us and making the landing pretty easy. I ended up enjoying it so much more than I had expected, and really wish we had gone for the 12-zipline!

Thank You Zipline Tours of Durango for Our Once in a Lifetime Experience

From Katie checking us in at the office to Jacob outfitting us and taking us to the course to Elise and Brayden as our senior guides this was a professional, exhilarating, and never to be forgotten thrill. It was a gift for my wife's birthday and was such a special experience for her. We had so much fun which was made possible by Elise and Brayden. They were so skilled and personable and you could easily see that they love their job and loved sharing this with the customers. And for me, one who is petrified of heights, they made the experience unbelievably comfortable and I can't wait to zip with them again. We will be back and if you are in Durango look them up. It is a fabulous adventure.

    Great experince

The zipline was a thrill. However it involved a lot of steps / hiking to get to the first one. For someone a little older it was difficult. We both felt safe. A couple of the starts were a little scary getting hooked up on the line to go. It is a wilderness after all. If you like to zipline I would recommend them. Very professional guides, informative and put safety first.

How much does 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango cost?

    +

Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Durango usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Durango is not rushed.

Is 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Durango, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango?

    +

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Durango can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Durango and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6-Zipline Adventure in the San Juan Mountains near Durango start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Durango within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Durango?

    +

Durango runs the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge steam railroad, Mesa Verde cliff dwelling tours, Animas River rafting, jeep trails and winter skiing at Purgatory. On Outty we rank every Durango experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Durango Half Day Rafting Trip - Lower Animas River, Durango Colorado - Rafting 1/4 Day, Durango 1/4 Day Rafting Trip - Lower Animas River. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Durango?

    +

May to October, with the railroad running year-round in shorter form. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Durango?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
