What fish??
🚨🚨 WARNING — DO NOT BOOK THIS FISHING CHARTER 🚨🚨 If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This was our family’s SECOND time taking this fishing trip, and after this experience, I can confidently say we will NEVER go back. From the beginning, it felt like we were paying for a fishing trip where the company was doing everything possible to minimize the actual fishing and maximize the money they collected. They take you to essentially the same spots, and there are very few fish you can actually keep. Then they collect $10 PER PERSON for a “biggest fish” pool. Here’s where it gets REALLY questionable. At the end of the trip, everyone is told to get off the boat and wait while they determine who won the biggest-fish money and bring out the fish that were caught. We had a HUGE group divided between the front and back of the boat. When we asked who won the money, we were told it was someone at the front. Say you were sitting in the front? Suddenly, it was someone in the BACK. Say you were sitting in the back? Suddenly, it was someone in the FRONT. 🤨 So where exactly did the $10-per-person “biggest fish” money go? Because nobody could seem to give us a straight answer. We then stood around for approximately 45 MINUTES waiting for TWO TINY FISH that our group had caught. And guess what? THEY FORGOT ABOUT OUR FISH. We actually had to go back and ASK them for the fish WE CAUGHT. But don't worry — they DID remember to remind everyone to tip. 😂 TIP FOR WHAT??? We spent the trip barely catching anything, lost fishing time traveling way out to sea, waited nearly an hour after getting off the boat, had to remind the crew to give us our own fish, and couldn't get a straight answer about the money collected from everyone for the “biggest fish.” And somehow WE'RE supposed to make sure we leave a tip? Absolutely not. This entire experience left us feeling completely ripped off. If you're considering booking this company, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST. 🚨 DO NOT BOOK WITHOUT ASKING VERY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES. 🚨 ASK EXACTLY HOW THE “BIGGEST FISH” MONEY IS HANDLED. 🚨 ASK HOW MUCH ACTUAL FISHING TIME YOU GET. 🚨 AND DON'T EXPECT THE CREW TO NECESSARILY REMEMBER THE FISH YOU ACTUALLY CAUGHT. We paid good money for what was supposed to be a fun family fishing trip. Instead, we got very little fishing, very little fish, wasted time, questionable handling of the money pool, and a crew that couldn't even remember to give us the fish we caught. I would like a FULL REFUND for this trip. This wasn't just a bad fishing day. Fish don't always cooperate — THAT'S FISHING. The problem was how the entire trip was handled. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend taking your money somewhere else. ⚠️ SAVE YOUR MONEY .⚠️ SAVE YOUR TIME. ⚠️ BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Fishing trip to nowhere
Horrible experience. They took us out for ten minutes, about a mile. Then brought us back saying it was too rough to fish. The weather did not change in that ten minutes. They knew before they left that it was rough but took us out anyway to avoid refunding our money. They have a pretty good scam going but the bottom line is they put lives in jeopardy. Underhanded and scary business practice

Stole our money
We booked the 6hr trip and 5 minutes after we left the dock the captain said due to rough waves we will return to the dock. We were told to call and a refund would be issued. Called the owner Robbert Taylor and he said they will not refund, even though they canceled the trip. This is a scam and people work to hard for there money to have it stolen. Owner Bod Taylor said quote " courts won't do anything about $200....Nice right. I never write reviews but wrong is wrong...please don't support the business.

Extremely fun and knowledgeable crew. Captain Jordan and Roy were fantastic! Our family had a great time fishing. Huge shout out to the crew for the small detour to view dolphins!!

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Myrtle Beach.
How much does 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Myrtle Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Myrtle Beach is not rushed.
Is 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.2/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Myrtle Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Myrtle Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Myrtle Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6 Hour Specialty Fishing Trip @ Calabash start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Myrtle Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Myrtle Beach?
+
Myrtle Beach runs dolphin cruises, deep sea fishing charters, helicopter flights over the Grand Strand, and low country day trips to Charleston and Brookgreen Gardens. Charter boat size and included gear are the deciding factors offshore. On Outty we rank every Myrtle Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Waccamaw River Nature and Wildlife Tour, The Escape Game at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, Music and Memories at Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Myrtle Beach?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Myrtle Beach?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
