What you'll see and do
Shilihe Culture
Your Beijing tour kicks off with a convenient pickup right at your hotel—no hassle, just a smooth start to your day of exploration. Our first stop is the local flower, fish, and insect market—a lively, sensory-filled hub loved by locals. Here, you’ll meet a charming mix of small creatures: gliding turtles, darting colorful fish, fluffy rabbits and chinchillas, chirpy budgerigars and parrots, plus intriguing reptiles like iguanas for unique interests. It’s not just for animal lovers, though—wander further to find more treasures. Jewelry stands out, with delicate jade and semi-precious stone pieces (bracelets, necklaces, loose gems) that make one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Every corner has a surprise, perfect for soaking up Beijing’s everyday charm.

Panjiayuan Antique Market
Next, we’ll head to Panjiayuan Antique Market—a beloved hub where vendors from across China gather daily to sell handmade crafts and artworks (though weekends tend to be livelier with more stalls). As a bustling center for Chinese folk handcrafts (both for sale and collection), it’s packed with unique finds: jewelry, ceramics, calligraphy, teapots, ethnic clothing, Buddha statues, and paper lanterns. You’ll also spot one-of-a-kind pieces like Cultural Revolution memorabilia, PLA belts, Ming- and Qing-style furniture, old pipes, opium scales, and painted human skulls—plus countless other treasures waiting to be discovered any day of the week.

798 Art Zone
While you browse the market’s treasures, your guide will tailor handy shopping tips and advice to your interests—whether you’re hunting for authentic antiques, unique crafts, or memorable souvenirs, they’ll help you navigate with confidence. After a relaxing lunch to recharge, we’ll head to your final stop: 798 Art Zone. Once a cluster of disused factories built with East German assistance, this sprawling space has been transformed into Beijing’s iconic hub for contemporary art. Today, it’s home to a vibrant mix of art galleries, chic boutiques, cozy coffee shops, and distinctive restaurants, where industrial brick walls and exposed steel beams blend seamlessly with cutting-edge art. When your art-filled exploration comes to an end, we’ll arrange a comfortable drop-off back at your Beijing hotel, wrapping up your day of discovery perfectly.

Markets and art tour
A great day, especially the 798 art zone. Sherry was a great guide giving me lots of information.

The Guide is Everything
Our guide, Ranee, was someone you appreciate when exploring new cultures and scenes. She gave us the context of the markets and galleries and answered questions in a way that showed she wanted us to understand and enjoy ourselves too.

Art Zone is a MUST see!
The antique market and Fish & Flower market was nice but the Art Zone was really cool! Wish we had more time to walk around. Alice was a good guide and took us to a great place for lunch. She even made an extra stop at the Silk Market which we enjoyed learning the history and how silk is made.

Tour to Flower and Fish Market, 789 Art Zone and Antique Market.
The hotel pick-up was punctual with a very nice welcome from Ms. Sherry and Mr. Zhang. In the flower and fish market, we had a large and diverse number of flowers and plants. The fish market offered us interesting and diverse species of colorful fish, turtles, toads and other small animals. The highlight was the 798 Art Zone. Impressive what the artists have done with the disused factory area! Of course, the small boutiques have particularly impressed us! The antique market was stocked with many old selected things, gathered and presented with love. It was a very interesting and informative day with a competent tour guide. Sherry fulfilled all our special wishes and thus gave us a wonderful day, which Beijing showed us from a special side. We can highly recommend this interesting tour, which will also surely bring you closer to Beijing.

Very interesting impression of the city
Sherry, the tour guide and the driver Zang did a good job. The flower and fish market was overwhelming in the variety of flower breeding and colorful fish. The Quartier 708 Art Gallerie was very interesting with its diverse art and pretty boutiques. The antique and flea market offered a wide range of possible bargains. It was an exciting day when we were able to get to know Beijing from a very beautiful side.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

How far in advance should I book 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6-Hour Private Beijing Tour: Flower and Fish Market, Panjiayuan Antique Market and 798 Art Zone start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Temple Heaven, Lama Temple, Summer Palace & Peking Duck Bus Tour, Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Sightseeing Full-day Group Tours, Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
