Great trip

We had a wonderful trip, our driver was terrific and very accommodating. The tour was fun, scenery was amazing and had a great van load of people.

Hot Hebrides

I've done a fair few tours by this point but I'd never been to the outer Hebrides and was particularly keen to. This experience did not disappoint, the locations we went to were sublime and our driver Simon had a free and flexible approach that kept things interesting at all times. I'd been to Skye before but it felt like a completely new place this time. We were insanely lucky with the weather every day of the tour and temperatures got up into the mid twenties, I even got sunburn! I had no issues with my accommodation and thought the staff in all three B&Bs were friendly.

Just Book the Trip - it is Awesome!

Just returned from our tour - it was amazing. Our driver/guide Jim Divine did an amazing job at logistics as well as sharing historical, relevant (and fun) content along the way. He is definitely a subject matter expert and his commentary was a big plus. We made the most of our tour every day - a great group of 16 from USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. The smaller coach bus made it intimate and easier to get everywhere compared to the large tour buses. Despite a lot of rain and overcast days the sun magically appeared when we needed it most. Rabbies is a great operator (I did the Outlander tour the weekend before!) and I will definitely book again! Only one cautionary comment - none of the hotels had lifts/elevators - I don't recall if there was an opportunity to request when booking so just be mindful if needed.

Bruce M (the Great), was...

Bruce M (the Great), was an amazing driver/guide as he took our requests to heart. He took our small group to his hidden gems and gave us recommendations that were spot on. We were on the hunt for a Cullen skink and he found a perfect place for us to relive our culinary memory. Bruce M even made the effort to allow us to revisit places on the Isle of Skye. Bruce may not wear a kilt but he has the heart and soul of a true Scot and we are extremely happy to have spent time on his tour. Thank you Bruce. Rock on with your annual concert!

Rabbie’s Tours Are Excellent, but the Lodging Fell Short

I had taken a Rabbie’s tour previously and was very satisfied, so I recommended the company to two others and booked again. Rabbie’s tours themselves remain well organized, and the drivers are knowledgeable and friendly. However, this time the accommodations arranged through them were disappointing and, in one case, unacceptable. One B&B room was extremely small, with a bathroom so cramped it was difficult to use, and the shower barely worked. Another B&B was clearly unsanitary, with a stained mattress, visible mold in the bathroom, and generally poor cleanliness. Breakfast there consisted only of cereal and toast while other guests were served cooked meals. Rabbie’s did respond courteously and issued refunds, which I appreciate. However, these properties should never have been included among Rabbie’s lodging partners. Travelers pay for a quality, vetted experience and should be able to trust that the accommodations meet reasonable standards of comfort and hygiene. Suggestions: Rabbie’s should more carefully review its B&B partners and provide travelers with a direct emergency contact number separate from the driver in case of problems. While I still believe Rabbie’s tours themselves are well run, the poor lodging on this trip diminished the overall experience and made me hesitant to book again.

6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.

How much does 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh cost?

+

Prices start at $1299 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh take?

+

Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.

Is 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 504 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 144-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh?

+

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6-Day Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?

+

On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh Ghost Tour: Mysteries, Legends and Murders. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Edinburgh?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
