Incredible 6-Day Andes Adventure with a Private-Tour Feel

My wife and I had an unforgettable 6-day hiking trip through the Ecuadorian Andes. From start to finish, the entire experience felt like a private tour. The transportation, hotels, meals, hikes, and daily logistics were all very well organized, and the crowds throughout the trip were minimal, which made the experience feel even more personal and peaceful. What made the trip truly special was our guide, Alirio, who was with us the entire time. He was thoughtful, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about the Andes terrain, local culture, history, artisans, and the communities we visited. Through Alirio, we were able to connect with the people and places in a much more meaningful way, from family-owned hotels and lodges to local residents and artisans along the route. The itinerary was the perfect mix of hiking, scenery, culture, and adventure, including Quilotoa, Chimborazo, Baños, waterfalls, and Cotopaxi. Each day felt unique, authentic, and personal, with breathtaking views and genuine local experiences. We also felt the trip offered excellent value. The included transfers, accommodations, meals, guided activities, entrance fees, bilingual guide, and 24/7 support made the cost feel very reasonable, and any extra fees were clearly explained in advance. Overall, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us as a couple. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professionally organized Andes adventure with an incredible guide, minimal crowds, and a true private-tour feel.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! 🌄 We’re thrilled to hear that your 6-day Andes hiking trip felt seamless, personal, and peaceful. It’s wonderful to know that Alirio and our team made every day unique and meaningful, connecting you with local communities, artisans, and breathtaking landscapes. Your recommendation means a lot, and we’re delighted that the itinerary, logistics, and support contributed to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We’d love to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey in Ecuador!

    Best guide ever!

Our guide, Alirio, was incredible. The tour ended up just being me and my husband and we had such a great experience. It was a new way to travel for us, but wow was it adventurous and beautiful! It was nice not to have to plan anything and just to get up and get outside hiking every day.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much Lauren for your kind review and feedback. We are so happy you had an amazing experience with us, we can't wait to welcome you back soon!

Great hiking in the Andes with an experienced guide

Fantastic tour of the best hikes in the area, my favorite being the long day hike up to Quilotoa crater. My husband and I are both in our 60s, and while we are fit, we had never hiked at high altitudes. We spent a few days in and around Quito to acclimate before the hike started. But I credit our experienced and professional guide Daniel with helping us succeed in getting up to the 5100-meter high lagoon at Chimborazo and the almost equally high base camp at Cotopaxi. Most of the hotels were also well chosen, with comfortable rooms and good food.

Response from the operator: Dear Ivy, Thank you so much for your review. We are really happy to know that you have enjoyed your time with us on this amazing adventure. Your comments help us to keep improving and offering the best for our guests. Best regards, Rebecca Adventure Travel Best regards, Rebecca Adventure Travel Team

    Amazing.

I had the opportunity to do this hike in the Andes with the Christian guide of Rebecca Adventures, the landscapes were magical my best part was the Quilotoa hike, the lagoon has a spectacular turquoise color, it was a beautiful experience where I could know the culture of the villages that are in the middle of the Andes. Fully recommended for those who like walking and disconnect from the routine.

Response from the operator: Estimado. Nos alegra saber que disfrutaste de los paisajes que brinda Ecuador. Todo nuestro equipo esta en continua capacitacion para brindar simpre lo mejor. Esperamos nos visites de nuevo.

6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $2,552 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 144 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 144-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 144-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 6 Day Hiking Ecuadorian Andes Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

    +

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi Volcano full day tour with all the entrances, every day, Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
