    Unforgettable trip in Albania

My friend and I (two girls) did a custom tour of the Alps in northern Albania with Enjoy Travel. From the very beginning, Genci was extremely prompt with his responses and very willing to go through several iterations of the itinerary until it was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Throughout the trip, he was always very quick to answer our questions, always on time, very professional, and very flexible when we wanted to change items in the itinerary or meeting times last minute. He surprised us with one of the most magnificent guest houses by a lake that i have ever been to, and we would have never have found it on our own or would have been be able to navigate to/from on the ferry without him. As to the sights themselves - Albania is stunningly beautiful. Gorgeous mountains at the Valbona Pass (and being in the Valbona village surrounded by the mountains is pure magic), surreal ferry ride on the Shala River, glorious Komani Lake, lots of fun farm animals in the villages, the historic Berat castle… Albania left quite on impression on us and the trip would have been a lot more stressful and difficult to navigate on our own without Genci by our side. We’ve had an unforgettable experience. If you have any doubts on whether to sign up with Enjoy Travel, definitely do it! They took out all the stress and logistics hustle (a real menace for foreigners like us) out of the trip so we could truly take in all the sights.

Response from the operator: Dear Maria Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review! I am Really glad That you and your friend had such an unforgettable experience exploring the Albanian Alps with us. Genci and our entire team are passionate about creating customized, stress-free adventures, and it's wonderful to know that his prompt communication, flexibility, and attention to detail helped make your trip so special. That hidden gem by the lake is one of our favorites too — we’re so glad you enjoyed it! Albania truly is a magical place, and hearing how much you appreciated the beauty of Valbona, Komani Lake, the Shala River, and Berat means the world to us. Thank you for trusting us to guide you through it. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future. Until then — safe travels and warm regards from all of us at Enjoy Travel! With appreciation, Genci and The Enjoy Travel Team

3 days in the Albanian Alps

Genci is a marvellous guide and driver. We did a 3 day trip from Tirana to Thethi. He picked us up from the hotel and stayed with us the whole time. We had a fantastic journey with him through the mountains, and he also guided us to the 2 well known waterfalls. We stayed at Polia, a local guest house where the dinners provided by the host were both excellent. Genci is the perfect companion: kind and sensitive, and we cannot recommend him more highly!

    Definitely worth writing home about

Visiting the north of Albania is not easy, but Genci at Enjoy Travel made it smooth anyway. The mountains are epic, the in-lake berm of restaurants and bars are (at least at the time I write this) like a mini-hidden resort, and the locals in and around Theth and Valbona are very welcoming. In 2022, Albanians are still seeing their own country so there will be plenty of folks from Tirana on your tour who, if they're friendly like our group, will give you solid lessons on Albania's recent history, current and traditional music, best beer and more. Genci was extremely responsive when setting up our tour and throughout, and after our hiking days gave us a personal tour of Shkodër Castle and the main center of Tirana. Our tour ended with a stay at a day-rental apartment in a building that housed a museum to Ismail Kadare (a famous Albanian author), just across a park from Tirana's Opera and Ballet Theater. The apartment was extremely comfortable and centrally located. A note for the Valbona pass tour: the north of Albania is fairly wild country and you must be prepared ... bring rain gear, sturdy hiking shoes with good traction, a swimsuit for Lake Komani and cash because there are only 1-2 bankomats anywhere north of Shkodër.

Response from the operator: Dear Brock thank you a lot for your kind review and it was a real pleasure hosting you in Albania. you are always welcome again in Albania. wish you the best. Genci

5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.

How much does 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania cost?

    +

Prices start at $890 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.

Is 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 5 Days Hiking Tour to the north of Albania start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tirana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tirana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tirana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
