What you'll see and do
Kisoro
AeroLink Flight to Kisoro, hike and canoe across Lake Mutanda You then “settle” in a dugout canoe for 2-3 hours of gentle relaxed cruising across the lake, enjoying the beautiful landscape. After lunch at a restaurant on the lake shores, continuation on foot till Rubuguri (9km – 2/3 hours) where you meet up the vehicle and drive for another 10 km up to the Lodge in Nkuringo (approx 1 hour). Of course you can also be picked up by the vehicle at the lake and drive all the way up to the Lodge.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, at around 7:45 am, with packed lunch and drinking water you will be transfer to the National Park Head Quarters for the briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the gorillas. You then continue to the forest for the start of the actual gorilla tracking.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This morning after a hearty breakfast, enjoy birding in Nombe Pocket Forest – it was part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and it is still quite impenetrable, however it was cut off from it as people needed more land to live on and cultivate. It can be reached on foot (approx. 1 hour to go and 2 hours to come back) or by vehicle and the visit lasts approx. 2 hours, depending on the interest of guests. Lunch at the lodge and at 2.00 pm departure to Buniga Forest Trail Walk, an informative project run by USAID and the local Batwa community. The Batwa tribe was forced to leave their home in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in 1991 when it was declared a UNESCO Heritage site for gorillas only. They had been living in the forest as nomadic hunter-gatherers for millennia, in perfect balance with the flora and fauna around. Moving out and suddenly living in communities with a completely different way of life has proven to be a huge challenge. They now survive as best as they can and earn a living explaining their previous life in the forest and their rich heritage. Continuation of the walk through the community to visit the traditional herbalist and the black smith.

Blown away!
Where to start? From the very beginning when we started planning 10 months ago Diana was unbelievable! From various flight changes by the airline causing us to have logistic issues all the way to greeting us with a smile at the airport on arrival, we had nothing but brilliant service. The trip itinerary and execution was perfect and has contributed to one of the greatest family experiences we have ever had (and we have had many). The Gorilla experience was just breathtaking, everyone needs to experience this humbling, mind blowing experience at least once. This was all aided brilliantly by our driver and guide Oscar Frank who was basically part of the family for three days. From brilliant driving and expert knowledge to a lovely personality and calm persona Oscar was the perfect companion. After an issue with a flight due to weather, we found ourselves with time to kill at the airport waiting to fly back to Entebbe. When my wife and I suggested we thought we might go running, rather than run through the Town he drove us up to a beautiful lake and followed us while we had an amazing run with spectacular views, keeping us safe. I can’t recommend Nkuringo Safaris and the gorilla trekking highly enough, we are totally blown away. Thank you so much.

Amazing tour
Everything about this 5 day experience was top notch. Remmy was an incredible guide - great energy, good vibes, helpful, knowledgeable, & always kept us feeling safe. Lodges were beautiful with great service & of course the animals/wild life did not disappoint. Added some optional hikes/walks to keep us active. Incredible trip - definitely recommend Remmy & Nkuringo!!

Incredible trip to Uganda
The trip was unbelievable. The itinerary was thoughtfully packed with amazing activities and beautiful scenic drives that made travel time enjoyable. The gorilla and chimpanzee trekking experiences were truly once-in-a-lifetime moments that we will never forget. Our guide Remmy was the best tour guide we could have asked for during our trip to Uganda. He was always prompt, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. He truly made the entire experience special. We felt comfortable with him right away, and by the end of the trip, it honestly felt like we were traveling with family. We can’t recommend Remmy highly enough!

Rwanda + Uganda Gorilla Trekking with Remmy
We spent a week being guided by Remmy across both Uganda and Rwanda to do a gorilla habituation experience in Uganda and a ‘normal’ gorilla experience in Rwanda (both of which are very worth it). We’re fortunate enough to travel a lot - Remmy was genuinely one of the best guides we’ve ever encoutered: knowledgeable, caring, fun, calm. I’d hightly recommend you stay at Nkuringo Lodge in Bwindi, and ask for Remmy to guide you around - we had a fantastic time!

We had the most incredible 5-day trip with Nkuringo Safaris to Bwindi National Park to see the gorillas: truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
