Great Northern Vietnam taster tour

The 7 day tour package was a great northern Vietnam tour that includes Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh. The tour activities had a good mix of active and relaxing activities. Note that hiking through rice paddies in Sapa and the Mua Cave in Ninh binh can be a bit intense , especially with the heat and humidity so this tour requires a good level of fitness. The hotel accomodations in each city and the cruise boat for Ha Long Bay were fantastic. The transport options were largely good. The sleeper bus to Sapa was great and the D Car Limousine or bus options were great. Many times, the drivers could not speak good English and only knew a few words. This meant sometimes it was difficult to understand where we were going, how long was drive, where we were stopping and for how long. However, the instructions on the WhatsApp messages on when to be ready for pickup was clear and generally provided the night before. Mr Son or Ms Hang as the travel agents were contactable and respond pretty quickly which was excellent and would act to provide any missing communication. There was one instance where there was a mixup where the driver that was meant to pick me up after the Ha Long Bay cruise per the instructions I received did not have me on their list and was instead picked up by another driver. This was a bit confusing and frustrating so it would have been helpful if this was resolved by the travel agent or if the details were checked and confirmed. Other than this, it was a pretty smooth experience. The tour guides were great but what I realised after commencing the tour that this is not a 7 day tour with one group and a single tour guide but rather a series of 1 or 2 day tours combined together with different tour operators. What this means is that you don’t have continuity with the same tour group and have a different tour guide each time.

We were fortunate to have good weather at fansipan. Our itinerary is as follows D1 - arrive Hanoi , take sleeper train D2 - arrive Sapa, tour villages. Eat at popular Good Morning View and A Phu fish hotpot, stop at Viettrekking cafe for the best bite D3 - Sapa fansipan tour, take photo at Moana Sapa, take sleeper bus D4 - arrive Hanoi, take Train street tour, city sights and eat at several Michelin spots like Bun Cha Houng alien, banh mi 25, egg coffee, boutique shopping, shopping mall and Tam Vi Michelin restaurant D5 - free day Hanoi souvenirs shopping, send to airport My few tips -ensure you check out weather, Q2 is among the best to avoid rains. -ensure you take upper berth by all means in sleeper bus, you would thank me later -Hanoi is a Michelin food heaven, ensure you spend time to try out their food, cheap and good -bring proper jacket for fansipan as it gets windy and bit chilly at the top. -the best part of our trip - Catcat village take the 3story rainbow slide, and do the traditonal costume photography, super enjoyed it! Moana drone videography is also mind blowing! I believe this is the best comprehensive way to cover off both Hanoi city and Sapa. The good thing about private tour is you can customise everything to your preference. It was a smooth tour. Many thanks again to Son. Highly recommended.

Totally worth

We did a 3 days private tour, fully customized: Mai Chau and Ninh Binh. Both places have si ma y things to offer, it's a nice visit to the truly countryside of Vietnam. We were accompanied by a driver and a tour guide. Hotels were good and the lunch/dinners included were pretty good.

Absolutely Amazing! Would book another!

Incredibly experience! Our guide, Peter, made the trip amazing! Having a private driver and guide meant we could adjust the activities on the fly based on weather and our personal interests. Peter crafted it to exactly what we wanted and is better than anything we could have hoped for. The lodging and food options were also great. This is the only way we want to travel now!
