Great!! The sunrise and the lava area were great!
I booked it through Get your guide and it seems to have been a tour by a company called Batur Jeep Sunrise Experience. The sunrise was beautiful! Our guide, Taka, spoke good English and explained everything to us. He even brought us chairs and was very considerate. However, I'm sorry that I didn't have the courage to have breakfast on the way because it was very shaky. I would have been in trouble if I had come out. It was so shaky. The woman from Canada who joined us was also friendly, so we had a wonderful time. We talked about hot springs, and everyone seemed to stop by hot springs! We stopped by a coffee plantation on the way back! I didn't want ground coffee, so I didn't buy any, but it was good to have a guide with us!

Unique combination of activities
A very interesting way to view Mt Batur. While hot & dusty, the jeep trip was fun. Then to back that up with a fantastic dip in the natural hot spring was amazing. The only disappointment was the lunch - it was cold & greasy. Overall though, I'd definitely recommend this experience.

Bumpy & Beautiful
Our driver picked-up us at 6.30 a-m and drove us to Natural Hot Spring near the Mount Batur. We took a Jeep 4x4 with one driver and one "guide". Then we took a small road to the foot Batur Volcano. We crossed the ancient lava flow, it was really amazing like sensation all this black stone around us. Of course the road was really bumpy, but this was the reason we choose the 4x4 experience. That was funny, we were shaked in every senses. Then we crossed the ancient lava black sand. Our driver and the guide were really great they told us a lot of things about the volcano and the landscape, they were so funny and proposed us a lot of photo. They took many photos in differents spots. They allowed ut to drive the Jeep in the black sand, it was a really great experience. They were really funny and we shared really a good time with them. After we crossed the ancient lava flow we turned around the volcano and came back to the hot spring. We enjoyed the hot spring during one hour, it was really relaxing after 2h30 of bumpy road and shaked like maracas. After our driver proposed us to have the lunch. We took the lunch in a magic restaurant at the top of the hill with an amazing view on the Mount Batur, Mount Agung and lake Batur. The restautant proposed a buffet, with lot of different things to eat. It was really a great day, not really relaxing, but great and different from other sightseeing tour. If you want adventure and you like "something different" this one is for you.
