There is a lot of...
There is a lot of driving, but it's a good way of seeing New Zealand. Great day at Hobbiton, good diversion at Rotorua, long drive into Wellington that needed one stop in a picturesque town.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your review and thoughts. Your comments are noted about trying to find a stop between Wellington and Rotorua - good point. Pleased you enjoyed Hobbiton.

Amazing NZ sights!
We appreciated being able to see all the amazing NZ sights with one stops itinerary. It was great how everything was organized for us. We enjoyed our guides along the way. The bus ride on the third day, though necessary, was very long!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to submit your review which are valuable to us to ensure we meet and where possible exceed our customers expectations. We do hope that you will have the opportunity to visit New Zealand again in the not too distant future.

Overview of Auckland to Wellington
I traveled solo during off season. It was great to have the tour guides/drivers practically to my self. The tour started in Auckland, but if you don’t plan anything else this tour provides nothing of Auckland. Hint: plan something. Hobbiton and the Waitomo caves were great. Rotorua Was fascinating with regards to the geothermal springs and learning about the Māori tribes/cilture. You must plan something ahead of time for the rest of the time here. Trip to Wellington was underwhelming as it is basically just taking a bus that has a few stops. Long enough to stretch your legs, but not longing to explore the cities. Would have been great if the bus stopped along way for some of the more scenic spots for pictures. This would not occur as this is a bus on a specific schedule. The Wellington tour was great. I was confused over some of the schedule having misplaced itinerary. Customer service was efficient and helped course correct. All lodgings were very nice.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to submit your review which are valuable to us to ensure we meet and where possible exceed our customers expectations. We do hope that you will have the opportunity to visit New Zealand again in the not too distant future.

First part is great. Last...
First part is great. Last part on inter city bus ride was too long and boring. A waste of our day. Seems pricy
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. With regard to the journey from Rotorua to Wellington the only option that currently exits to travel between the two centers on a daily basis is by coach. The journey is some 500 kilometers, however through some magnificent countryside and scenery, so unfortunately is going to take an entire day. The only other option is to fly which would add hundreds of dollars to the cost of the tour.

Great Way To Travel
Great way to travel but a bit pricy. Our ride was to include a morning tour of Auckland but DID NOT which was very disappointing. Driver was great! Mini bus was very cramped but did have Wi-Fi.
Response from the operator: Thanks for the review and pleased you had a great and enjoyable four days.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.
How much does 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $845 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.
Is 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4Day/3Nights Auckland to Wellington Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Auckland?
+
On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Auckland?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Auckland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
