Cancelled on us without permission the afternoon before the trip
Booked months in advance as a family of four with older kids, messaged to check sleeping arrangements well in advance and told would get 2 cabins (have in writing). The afternoon before the cruise informed by text message by them would only be one cabin and 3 beds for the 4 of us. When we questioned what they had previously advised they just cancelled the booking on us without even asking us for our permission to do so, leaving us to scramble around to find a last-minute alternative at significant additional cost given we were already in Luxor and our itinerary for travel around Egypt was already planned. We complained to Viator who reportedly have ‘no control over provider cancellations’ even though they impose a cancellation deadline of their own for purchasers (which had passed and would have meant no refund had we have cancelled at that stage). We would therefore avoid ‘Go Egypt tours’ at all costs based on our experience as the same could easily happen to anyone else.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment you experienced. We would like to clarify that, as per the boat’s official policy and the information clearly displayed on our listing, bookings for two adults and two children are accommodated in one triple cabin. This policy is set by the cruise operator, not by Go Tours Egypt. While we understand your request for two separate cabins, this arrangement was unfortunately not available under the booked conditions. We communicated this information in advance and, after your insistence on two rooms, we advised that the booking could be cancelled accordingly. We truly regret that this situation caused you stress during your travels. Our intention was never to leave you without options, but to ensure clarity and fairness in line with the cruise’s accommodation policy. We have since reviewed the communication process with both Viator and the boat management to help prevent similar misunderstandings in the future. We value every guest’s trust and hope this explanation helps provide context regarding what occurred. Kind regards,

Lovely Nile Cruise with hot air balloon and Abu Simbel included
Hot air balloon ride over Luxor temples was amazing. It was good that the Nile cruise tour included both hot air balloon and Abu Simbel. Def highlights of the trip.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the hot air balloon ride over Luxor and that both the balloon experience and the Abu Simbel visit were highlights of your trip. Including these special moments in our Nile Cruise program is exactly what we aim for — to make every journey unforgettable. We truly appreciate you choosing to travel with us and hope to welcome you back for more adventures in Egypt!

Very nice experience
This was overall a very good experience: The positives: -the organizer was very responsive, great client service from day one of booking the cruise till the end of the cruise. -the program was really like explained in the description, even when there was a sand storm in Kom Ombo and we could not sail to Asswan for Abu Simbel the day after, the organizer arranged for our guide to pick us up by car and get us to the destination on time. -the food was good and varied, bed comfortable, staff very nice, the rooms were cleaned everyday -because this was a 4 nights (rather than 3 nights as most of the other cruises) experience, we had slightly more time to visit the temples - guides were quite good, very informative, leaving us quite a good time to visit the monuments except for Abu Simble where we had 1h30 on site for 6 hours of driving but when we asked to stay a bit longer he said no problem. The negative: -out of 5 days of cruise we did not sail that much (did not sail on the first and last days, and because of the sand storm we did not get to see the sail between Kom Ombo and Asswan) -the boat was looking a bit old / kitchy -the boats were following each other so felt a bit touristic, we were sometimes overwhelmed with pollution But it was wonderful experience !
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your Nile Cruise experience. We’re truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the itinerary, our responsive service, and the comfort and cleanliness on board. It’s great to know the extra day gave you more time to explore the temples, and we’re glad our team could quickly adapt the Abu Simbel arrangements despite the sandstorm to ensure you didn’t miss this highlight. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the sailing schedule, the boat’s style, and the busy atmosphere along the Nile. While some of these factors are affected by weather and the general cruise traffic on the river, we’re always looking for ways to make the journey feel more unique and relaxing, and your comments will help us improve. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again for another wonderful experience in Egypt!

4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Luxor.
How much does 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Luxor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Luxor is not rushed.
Is 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Luxor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Luxor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luxor and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4 nights Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruise With Abu Simbel & Air Balloon from Luxor start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Luxor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Luxor?
+
On Outty we rank every Luxor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Tour of Luxor West Bank Temples and Tombs (Private), Luxury Sunrise Balloon Ride in Luxor with Hotel Pickup, Luxor Day Tour: Valley of Kings & Queens & Hatchepsut Temples. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Luxor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Luxor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
