What an experience!
Was a little apprehensive renting a Slingshot in a place we have never driven before. The experience was amazing from start to finish. The operator explained everything in detail and put us at ease with explaining the vehicle and route. We had the best experience! The Slingshot was an awesome ride!
Response from the operator: That first-time hesitation is completely understandable—especially driving somewhere new! I’m glad we could get you comfortable, walk you through everything, and let the Slingshot do the rest. Once you’re behind the wheel, the nerves usually disappear pretty quick 🏎️ Thanks for trusting us with the experience, and I’m glad it turned into such a great one!

Fun ride!
My husband has always wanted to ride a slingshot and I found a great deal for us to do just that! We did the 4 hour tour and, after finding our way around a road block, we had a great time! We stopped and ate at the recommended burger joint and sat in the river a while before heading back. It was a lot of fun and if we ever get back to San Antonio, we'll definitely rent again!
Response from the operator: This is exactly how a Slingshot day should go 🏎️ A little adventure, a roadblock to work around, a good burger, some river time, and plenty of open road in between. I love that this was something your husband had always wanted to do and that you were able to make it happen while visiting San Antonio. We’ll be ready for round two whenever you make it back!

Highly recommended.
Excellent experience! Had a great time renting a Slingshot. Kenny was so helpful and made the whole experience easy and fun. Definitely one of the best things we did in Texas. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the awesome review! We’re glad you had a great time and that Kenny was able to make everything easy and fun. That’s always the goal — get you comfortable, get you on the road, and let the Slingshot do what it does best. We really appreciate you calling it one of the best things you did in Texas. That means a lot to us! Thanks again for the recommendation, and we’d love to have you back anytime you’re ready for another ride.

Take the ride!
Slingshot Adventure was such a great experience! The customer service really stood out, everyone was friendly, helpful, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. The views were absolutely beautiful and made it totally worth it. It’s the perfect way to get out of the hustle and bustle of San Antonio and just take in some amazing scenery. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something fun and refreshing to do!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the awesome review! We’re glad y’all had such a great time and that our team helped make everything smooth and easy from start to finish. Sometimes the best part of San Antonio is getting just far enough outside the city to let the open road and Hill Country views do their thing! We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to see y’all back for another Slingshot adventure soon.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Antonio.
How much does 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Antonio usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Antonio is not rushed.
Is 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Antonio, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Antonio can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Antonio and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 4 HR | Slingshot Devil's Backbone & Canyon Lake Self-Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Antonio within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Antonio?
+
San Antonio runs River Walk cruises and dinner tours, Alamo and mission trail history walks, ghost tours through the old quarter, and Hill Country wine and cave trips. Mission tours vary in whether they cover all five UNESCO sites. On Outty we rank every San Antonio experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Escape Game San Antonio: Epic 60-Minute Adventures at The Rim, Walking Tour Along the San Antonio Riverwalk And Around Downtown, Small-Group World Heritage San Antonio Missions Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Antonio?
+
March to May and October to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Antonio?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
