    Friendly captain and crew

We are a family ranging from 4 to 73 y/o. We enjoyed the boat ride although sitting for awhile in a bumpy ride is not so comfortable still we had fun. Captain and crew were very friendly and informative. We saw a lot if dolphins and fishes while snorkeling at captain cook. We wish we even had more time snorkeling. My niece 6 y/o and nephew 4 y/o was their first time snorkeling and they were experts right away. I was kinda scared for them going into the water but they actually had the most fun. There was enough lunch and snacks and drinks for our family. We even brought home the leftovers. It’s also easy to find the location and once you book, you just show up and they were really nice. They even gave us sun screen to use. Also everything is provided for the snorkeling.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for sharing your wonderful experience on the water with us! As a family business we're always happy to share our love for the ocean and adventure with families on board. We're happy to hear your young niece and nephew got the hang of snorkeling as well! We hope to see you again on your next trip back to Big Island whether it's snorkeling Kealakekua Bay, marine animal sightings or a winter humpback whale watch!

Captain Zodiak raft & snorkeling adventure

We went on a Zodiak & snorkeling adventure with Captain Rick & Demonte. It was excellent. They were professional, friendly & very informative. We went early in the morning & Captain Cook Cove was quiet. The snorkeling was unbelievable. This one a great adventure & so much fun. I would suggest this for anyone who wants a great water adventure. Thank you to Tick & Demonte for making this a unforgettable experience.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for starting your morning on the water with us! 🌅 Captain Rick and Devante loved hosting you—professional, friendly, and packed with island insight is exactly what they aim for. Slipping into a quiet Captain Cook Cove and finding that unreal Kona snorkeling is the dream combo, and we’re thrilled it hit the mark. Thanks for recommending this adventure to fellow ocean-lovers. Can’t wait to see you back for round two! 🌊🐠

4 hour private boat trip - snorkelling and fun!

We had a great day on the water - the team were great, and so knowledgeable about marine wildlife and the local geoology. They were great with the kids and the lunch was delicious!

Response from the operator: Mahalo for joining us! 🌊 We’re so glad you and the kids had an amazing Kona adventure with our crew. Between the snorkeling, marine wildlife, and a tasty lunch, it sounds like the perfect day on the water. Can’t wait to welcome you back for more Kona fun! 🐠☀️

    Great time with Captain Sandy

We were with a group of grandparents and grandchildren. Captain Sandy took us to a great place for snorkeling and after everyone was done with that she found a good place to stop and let the kids jump off the boat and play in the water. She also took us to various places (bays/coves) where she told us Hawaiian legends. It was a great trip all around.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! Our trips are great for multiple generational enjoyment and creating lasting family memories.

4-Hour Kona Private Charter: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Big Island of Hawaii.

How much does 4-Hour Kona Private Charter cost?

    +

Prices start at $1623 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Island of Hawaii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 4-Hour Kona Private Charter take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Big Island of Hawaii is not rushed.

Is 4-Hour Kona Private Charter worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Island of Hawaii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 4-Hour Kona Private Charter?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 4-Hour Kona Private Charter suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 4-Hour Kona Private Charter?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Island of Hawaii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Island of Hawaii and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 4-Hour Kona Private Charter start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Big Island of Hawaii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

The Big Island is volcano country: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tours, Mauna Kea summit stargazing, night manta ray snorkels off Kona, Waipio Valley lookouts and coffee farm visits. Summit tours have real altitude rules, so we weight safety detail. On Outty we rank every Big Island of Hawaii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include KONA Manta Ray Night Snorkel - FREE re-ride if no Sightings, Big Island: Captain Cook Snorkel On A Power Catamaran With Lunch, Big Island in a Day: Volcanoes Waterfalls Sightseeing and History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

April to October, though the island runs year round. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
