Fishing, culture, and history high in the Andes
Our first time in Peru and it was an amazing experience! We fished in the high Andes in rivers and lakes unlike anything we've seen in Colorado, Montana, or Wyoming. Prior to our trip Fernando was great about communication and his English is excellent. We customized our trip with an extra day and Fernando's passion for his country and culture was clear through the many options for culture and experiences he gave us. From pickup to dropoff in Lima Fernando had every piece of logistics finely tuned and had great relationships with people everywhere we went allowing us to fish, explore, and experience well beyond anything we could have done ourselves. We each caught some nice fish including a trophy trout and Fernando was great there as well - changing lures, moving us around, casting tips, everything we'd expect from a quality fishing guide. Lodging for the trip was very nice, the food was delicious, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Fernando as a guide, both for fishing and for the culture and history of Peru. The trip far exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return!
Response from the operator: Hello Mike! We had a great trip! missing you both already! Thanks for the review! Best regards! Fernando

Come for the fish, stay for the food!
From the get go, Fernando was awesome. The communication between him and us before the trip was a huge plus- he made sure we knew exactly what to expect and what we should bring. We spent four days trout fishing in the Andes and learned so much (me how to cast correctly and Tom learning how to fly fish)! Fernando also made sure we were well fed the entire trip, so don’t worry about going hungry- it’s not possible. We ended up booking a morning fishing trip in the ocean the day of our departure from Peru and it was the perfect way to end the trip. Fernando knows his fish and he knows everything there is to know about the areas. One of the best aspects of fishing with Fernando is that he’s excited for you every time you catch a fish and takes so many pictures for you both of the fish and the scenery while you’re fishing. We have already talked about coming back as soon as we can. Our fishing trips were the highlight of our week in Peru.
Response from the operator: Hello Jen! Thanks for the review I really appreciate it! Looking forward to go fishing again together next year! Send my best regards to Tom for me! Tight lines! Fernando

Is 4 Days 3 Nights Trout Fly Fishing Trip in the Andes of Peru worth it?
+

How far in advance should I book 4 Days 3 Nights Trout Fly Fishing Trip in the Andes of Peru?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lima can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Lima?
+
On Outty we rank every Lima experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Paracas & Huacachina Day Trip from Lima with Sunset Toast, Discover Lima: Love Park, Historic Center, and its Catacombs., Paracas & Huacachina Premium Experience from Lima. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lima?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lima?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
