Beautiful Cruise, Exceptional Service and Amazing Food

We really enjoyed our cruise with Grand Pioneers. The scenery was beautiful, and we especially loved that the excursions were included in the price. It made the experience feel very complete and well worth it. The food was amazing, and the service throughout the ship was exceptional. Our dining server, Gucci Phong, took such good care of us during breakfast /brunch and dinner. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. We did have one dinner where the scallops in our salad were undercooked and needed to be properly seared. My sister and I were unable to eat them that way, so we let Gucci know. He immediately informed the kitchen, and kitchen staff apologized for the issue. I want to make it clear that the undercooked scallops had absolutely nothing to do with Gucci Phong. He did an excellent job being our server and handled the situation professionally and promptly. Gucci Phong was attentive, caring, and always made sure we were well taken care of. We really enjoyed our cruise and would definitely recommend Grand Pioneers for the beautiful scenery, included excursions, delicious food, and exceptional service. One thing that did make us feel a little uncomfortable was the behavior of some guest groups onboard. At times, they were quite loud, including chanting and speaking loudly in dining room in their large group , which could be disruptive during meals. We also noticed some guests using their hands to take food from the buffet, which was uncomfortable to see. We understand that the cruise welcomes guests from many different backgrounds, but we felt this was worth mentioning as it did affect the dining experience at times.

Best experience you could choose for Halong Bay

This was our first cruise and we could not have made any better decision than to choose Grand Pioneer with it’s 3 days 2 nights on Grand Pioneer Cruise I. The whole team did an amazing good job with a very friendly and attentive service. Sarah was our personal waitress in restaurant service - and she was so lovely, kind and professionell that we will always remember her when thinking back to our Halong Cruise. Cook Chi and his team are outstanding. Tourguide „K“ and Jade made us feel welcome every moment and explained a lot about the breathtaking environment of Halong Bay. The excursions to different caves and the Fishing village were interesting and so beautiful. Take the time to climb up the hill on Titov Island - it is worth it and probably will be one of the best views of your life. Everyone of the team we did not mention had also did everything to made us feel like heaven. Thank you!!!

Unforgettable Halong Bay cruise

This cruise was the highlight of our month long stay in Vietnam. Beautiful scenery… a different kind of experience. A different kind of customer service. Top notch. Their staff will take care of you from start to finish above and beyond what big cruise ships in the US provide. And food is equally impressive. I just wish they have a longer itinerary.

Very Disappointed

The boat and the crew are 5 star, special shout out to Mira in the restaurant. However this is not a 3 day 2 night cruise. You join the boat and cruise for about 2.5 hours, you then drop anchor. The boat does not then move for you for 40 hours or until you return to the mainland. The second day is spent on a rickety day boat with passengers from other cruises. So most of your cruising will be done on this boat. Very disappointed with the trip because of this, but cannot fault the staff on the discovery who were great. I just think the company should be more transparent about what you are paying for.

Because our main luxury ship must strictly adhere to these official regulations, a smaller day boat is utilized on the second day to transport guests to exclusive excursion points deeper in the bay. Perfect first cruise experience

Great sightseeing activities. A day in LanHa Bay was a highlight kayaking and swimming. The food on the cruise boat was excellent, well presented large portions and diverse flavors. Best of all was the smiling and friendly service crew. A perfect first cruise experience.
