Our guide Taichi was...

Our guide Taichi was exceptional! He was so knowledgeable, kind, and careful to keep us all safe on the bike ride. We saw sites we would've never otherwise seen things to him. If we could have, we would have had him guide us all around Japan for the week! Highly exceptional!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I still remember your tour clearly because it was such a hot day in Tokyo. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the ride as comfortable, safe, and enjoyable as possible for everyone, so I'm truly happy to hear that you had such a great experience. It was a pleasure to see you enjoying the bike ride while discovering some of Tokyo's hidden streets and local neighborhoods that many visitors would never have the chance to see. Your kind words about wishing I could guide you around Japan for the whole week genuinely mean a lot to me. Thank you again for choosing COG EXPLORER. I hope the memories from your Tokyo bike tour stay with you for a long time, and I would be delighted to welcome you again whenever you visit Tokyo in the future! Warm regards, Taichi COG EXPLORER JAPAN

Great bike tour of Shibuya!

This was a fabulous tour! I love exploring new cities and doing it by bike allowed us to cover a lot of ground. Taichi was very friendly, knowledgeable and enjoyed showing us his neighborhood. We learned a lot about the various areas, got a look and some history about iconic Tokyo sights. We loved it! Highly recommend Note: The bikes were decent commuter bikes with gears. There are some hills requiring shifting down. This tour is best for people who are comfortable cycling. We had zero issues navigating the tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m really glad you enjoyed exploring Tokyo by bike and discovering both the local neighborhoods and some of the city’s iconic sights. It was a pleasure showing you around my area and sharing the stories behind the places we visited. Thank you as well for mentioning the bikes and the cycling level—it’s very helpful for future guests. I’m so happy you had a great experience!

A great way to cover Shibuya!

Highly recommend doing this tour! Taichi was an excellent, knowledgeable, and kind guide. We covered 9-10 miles of ground with multiple stops, but did not feel rushed. Since we were the only ones in the group, he also tailored the stops in the specific location we were staying in (Shibuya crossing), and gave us a delicious lunch recommendation. It was great to have a guide who lives in the area and could give his perspective as a local. The ride was mostly flat, with a few short hills.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I’m really glad to hear that you enjoyed the ride and the time we spent exploring Tokyo together. Cycling through the city is one of the best ways to see both the famous spots and the quieter local streets, so I’m happy you could experience that. Since it was a private tour, it was my pleasure to tailor the route around the Shibuya area and share a few local perspectives along the way. I’m also glad you enjoyed the lunch recommendation—Tokyo has so many great hidden places to discover. Thank you again for joining the tour and for your kind words. I hope you had a fantastic stay in Tokyo, and you are always very welcome back anytime for another ride through the city. Best regards, Taichi COG EXPLORER JAPAN

Fantastic and original tour

Fantastic, original tour through the back streets and parks as well as tourist sites of Shibuya. Tour guide was unusually articulate, thoughtful, and generous in sharing his insider's knowledge. I wish he did tours in every neighborhood of Tokyo! Thank you for an excellent afternoon.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed exploring both the hidden back streets and the well-known spots around Shibuya. Tokyo has many different layers, and cycling through parks, local neighborhoods, and lively city areas is one of the best ways to experience that contrast. Your kind words about the tour and my explanations truly mean a lot to me. I always try to share not only the famous sights but also the local stories and perspectives that make the city feel more alive. Thank you again for joining the tour and for your thoughtful feedback. If you return to Tokyo in the future, I would be very happy to ride together again and explore another part of the city. Best regards, Taichi COG EXPLORER JAPAN

3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems cost?

+

Prices start at $7800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 13. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3-Hr Tokyo Bike Tour: Shibuya Highlights, Backstreets/Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
