Amazing local Quito guide!
Edwin provided an amazing experience of the local Huecas and other local points of interest. He was knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor and is obviously well respected within the community. I would recommend Edwin without hesitation!
Response from the operator: We'll see you for sure one more tine..... Best regards, Edwin

Definitely go on this!
Spent an absolutely amazing day with Edwin and some other folks on this Quito food tour. We found him on a Reddit post, so we weren't sure, but his reviews are accurate! You should definitely book this tour if you are, in addition to being a foodie (or open-minded to trying new foods and experiences): 1. Interested in learning about life in Quito, as Edwin is a top notch tour guide and professional. He is experienced, warm and welcoming, and is really thoughtful about the places where he takes you. He is really passionate about supporting local businesses and telling you the history of the owners and communities of the restaurants. 2. Curious about the culture, current events, and politics of the region. One of the things I loved most was chatting with him about that stuff, and his lovely wife even joined us at one point! So you really felt like friends visiting friends. 3. And about the food stuff, it was just so much fun, and we visited so many places. Definitely eat only a light meal or just fast for the day. You pay for the food as you go, which is totally fine and not an issue at all (bring small bills and change). 4. Example of places we went: coffee shop, fresh juice stand, fresh fruits, fish stew, sandwich meats, chocolate, hot chocolate and pastries, tripe (there are chicken options too!), and a community center. Thanks, Edwin, for a wonderful time, we really enjoyed it and appreciate you! :)
Response from the operator: I´m so happy reading your review... thanks so much for you confidence and kindness. QUito is such a wonderful city, its food, its people and for sure its culture is unique. Best regards, Edwin

Excellent experience (vegan + non-vegan)
We had a wonderful time with Edwin! He introduced delicious fruits and meals to us that we wouldn‘t have found on our own. No big fast food chains - only small local places. We are a mixed couple: one vegan and one who eats everything. Edwin made sure that both of us is happy in each place. Really glad we started our holiday with such a perfect experience. Thank you so much, Edwin!

Best food tour!
I loved this tour with Edwin! One of the best food tours I’ve been on in any city. We went to local places, known as huecas, as well as the central market. All of the food was tasty (buenaso!) and Edwin is incredibly knowledgable about the history of the food and Quito. It was really fun seeing different parts of the city than I’ve already seen and great to visit local eateries and restaurants where you can find good food for little money. I highly recommend this tour to everyone!
Response from the operator: Quito's huecas are really something else... Thanks

Best food tour!
I had the best time with Edwin, learning about and trying lots of different foods in the central market and at several different huecas (local, family run eateries/restaurants/holes in the wall places). Everything was tasty (buenaso) and the owners were friendly and welcoming! Edwin has depth of knowledge regarding Quito's history and food and I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Response from the operator: Buenazo!!! Best regards

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.
How much does 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.
Is 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 117 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito?
+
Around 41 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quito?
+
On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi Volcano full day tour with all the entrances, every day, Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quito?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quito?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 3 Hours Local Food Tour in Quito?
+
