    Expensive taxi ride

I recommend the trip but not the operator. We were cramped in a small car with a driver (not a guide) who could not speak English. We were basically dumped at the site with no direction to fend for ourselves. No information given. It was basically an expensive taxi ride. The site was awesome though.

Response from the operator: Hello Katherine, Thank you for your review! I am happy to go forward to investigate this further and issue a partial refund, as you were not satisfied. FYI, just to mention two things: 1) The inclusions regarding driver/guide are mentioned in the tour description. This is not a guided trip, but a ride to explore Candy Mountains on your own. You can take as much time as you like to enjoy the scenery and take photos. 2) I agree that the price is quite high, as it's booked through OTA (Viator in your case). That's why we always recommend our travelers to book the experience through our website instead to not be overcharged with commission fees. Please write us at tours@bakuexplorer.com, so we can discuss this further and start the refund process.

    Wonderful experience

Had a fantastic trip with guide Salma. It was great trip and we enjoyed everything about the trip. Right amount of details and time spent at every location giving right directions. Lunch was good as well and included in the trip.

    Ok Experience

Read some of the other reviews before booking this trip, so I thought I knew what what to expect. Some of the reviews had mentioned four stops, another said two, so I was expecting more than one stop, but that's all I got on this trip. If I had known I was only getting one stop, I would have spent more time climbing the hills to get some better views. The mountains themselves were very cool to look at, but the long drive kind of made me question whether it was worth it or not. Although my driver did not speak English, he was extremely pleasant to travel with, stopping on the way to buy me some water and a snack without me asking. We also were communicating through the translator app getting to know each other a little bit. The driver himself almost pushed this to a four star review, but in the end I did come away a little disappointed. My one suggestion would be to have a sheet printed out in English that explained what the expectations are for the trip so you know a little more of what is going on.

Response from the operator: Hello Brian! Thank you for this detailed review and I'm happy you enjoyed the ride with our driver. Regarding the "one stop" experience, I really apologize for that. I have investigated the issue and it was a mistake of the driver. I know, that's crazy. Therefore, I have just issued a 50% refund for this, as your experience matters and it was our fault. This won't happen ever again. Thanks again for being with us and I hope your Azerbaijan trip went well in general! Best regards, Eltaj Muradli

3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Baku.

How much does 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) cost?

    +

Prices start at $87 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Baku usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Baku is not rushed.

Is 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Baku, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option)?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Baku can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Baku and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Baku within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Baku?

    +

On Outty we rank every Baku experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gobustan and Absheron tour, BEST Gobustan, Volcanoes & Absheron Fire Tour (Group or Private), Shahdag, Quba, Candy Cane - Azerbaijan's Alpine Odyssey Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Baku?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Baku?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option)?

    +

Does 3-hour Candy Mountains Small Group Trip (with Pink Lake option) include hotel pickup?
