Worse Segway Tour I had in Berlin (My 5th) & Worst in My Segway Experience Worldwide (10+)
I used this Segway tour agency last year when a friend was visiting with me here in Berlin. I come to Berlin a few times a year and try to take new visitors on a Segway tour (as it’s a great way to see the city for the first time). Michael was our tour guide. I explained at the beginning (before we even put our helmets on) that I have been on several tours in the past, including one with his other guide, Ashraf. Since there were only two of us (and no others joined the tour), it was essentially a private tour as we paid for the Private 3 Hour VIP Tour. I politely asked what we would be seeing since I wanted to ensure we covered specific sights (so I wouldn’t have to visit them later during this trip to Berlin). Basically Michael ignored my inquiry and said we would “see things and avoid traffic”. After an hour, and after taking a long route through the hospital complex (which was a waste of time), I again inquired about what we will be seeing. He responded, "Parliament next.". Long story short, we did NOT see the sights I wanted to see. Even when we were two blocks away from the Sunken Library Room, he didn’t take us there. Later, while crossing Unter den Linden, a VERY busy four-lane road, we were stuck in the middle of on-coming traffic trying to cross. A traffic light crossing and access to the Sunken Library Room were only one block away…an unnecessary risk for all of us on our Segways! Essentially, Mike was a poor tour guide; rushed and unresponsive to our requests. This was my worst Segway tour in Berlin and the worst Segway tour I've ever taken…period. Stay away from Mike. P.S. Even after 15 years of being a tour guide, he still can't take a decent photo during the tour.
Response from the operator: Hi Adam, thank you for writing this in such detail. I read every word, and I want to respond honestly rather than defensively. You booked a private tour so the route could be built around you, you made your requests clearly, and that is not what you received. A private tour that is not shaped by the guests is not what we sell, and I am sorry that is what happened on yours. I have also taken your note about the crossing seriously, and it is being discussed with the team. I have reached out to you directly, because I would like the chance to put this right in person rather than only in a comment.

Great way to see the city!
Saif was an amazing guide during my first time visit to Berlin! He was easy to chat with and shared very interesting facts about the different landmarks that we stopped at. Request him if you can!

Easy and fun way to explore the sights of Berlin!
If you’re looking for a fun, easy way to get around Berlin and see the sights I definitely recommend this excursion. The segways were easy to ride and fun I think for everyone. Me and my mom had no issue getting onto it and riding around town with the instructor. The instructor was very nice and knowledgeable, and seemed to enjoy his job. 100% recommend if traveling to Berlin.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.
How much does 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $112 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.
Is 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3 Hour Berlin Guided VIP Private Segway Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Berlin?
+
On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Berlin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Berlin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
