Loved this unique way to see the real Vietnam
We absolutely loved our 2 day cycling tour of the Mekong Delta with Tung. The whole experience was incredible. Such a special and unique way to see the beautiful countryside and the lives of the local people

A great few days around the Mekong delta
After being met at the cambodia/vietnam border, the next few days were incredibly well organised and enjoyable/fun Some very interesting back roads, showing us about life in the countryside . Kenny was full of information about rural life and culture and ensured that we ate a very range of excellent food

Absolute recommendation – expectations far exceeded!
Our tour with Vietnam Bicycle Travel Co. really exceeded all expectations. The route selection was fantastic: small paths along narrow canals lined with small semi-open houses, through wide rice fields and past beautiful, authentic scenery. You dive deep into the unadulterated rural life of the Mekong Delta. Cycling is the appropriate means of transport for this purpose. Enough fast to move forward, enough slow to pick up sounds, smells and everything around it. A special highlight was our guide Hoang Bi. He impressed and delighted us from the first moment – an incredibly warm young man who offered us a service of the highest standard. He thought of every detail: Drinks, tools, towels, everything was prepared. He adjusted the bikes individually to us, so we were perfectly on the road. Hoang really knows all the ways and even all the hidden detours; if a path was once inaccessible, he knew immediately an alternative route. He explored much of the route himself. This flexibility has relaxed the tour enormously. His humour, sportiness and the many laughter moments together made each stage even more beautiful. At the same time, he is an excellent communicator – open, inquisitive and with great interest in exchange. His knowledge of history and his stories about the country and people made us understand Vietnam in a much more personal way. His enthusiasm for his country is infectious, and his warm manner touched us deeply. We really loved him. In between, some sights were perfectly scattered, so the tour remained varied without ever being overloaded. We were also particularly impressed by how flexible everything was: The length and difficulty of the day’s stages have been adapted exactly to our abilities, and the escort bus would always be ready to pick us up if we needed a break. Another highlight was the food. We ate in lovingly selected, small private establishments and tasted fresh, local specialties – each time a treat and an experience in itself. We were just happy and grateful for this experience in the end. Vietnam Bicycle Travel Co. is an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to experience the Mekong Delta actively, authentically and with genuine warmth. Karin and Martin, Switzerland Nov. 2025

See the roads less travelled through Mekong Delta by bike and have a culinary journey too!
A fantastic trip with our guide Loc and driver Nhan, both so passionate and knowledgeable about the areas we cycled through. Each section (morning or afternoon) was around 30km with plenty of stops for water, lady coffee, fruit and photos. We were lucky the rain stayed in Saigon so had the cooling breeze and shade along very narrow roads big enough for scooters and bikes only. Safety was Loc's nol concern and the bikes were great for the job. The home stay was a super experience - basic, as expected, and such a lovely family unit. Win was fun and helped us cook a delicious starter for our dinner. Even a mishap with a locked door (which turned into a full-on DIY disaster) wasn't too much hassle for them. Food and cooking was a definite highlight, from a 9 course veggie lunch, through to trying some "extreme" delicacies bought at the local market - all optional and well worth stepping out of your comfort zone to try. We must have tried well over 20 different dishes over the 2 dinners and 3 lunches. The final day boat tour and market visit was fun and gave our behinds a rest before getting back on the saddle to do the last 30km section and travel back to Saigon. Loc was Mr Enthusiasm! Great to chat to, definitely not shy about sharing his views and absolutely passionate about biking and food. He made the trip one of the most memorable organised activities we've done. Nhan was always ready when we needed him, setting up rehydration and snack stops throughout the cycle. He also BBQ'd our market purchases and bought the best durian l'd ever tasted, transporting it in the most innovative way.... The best team support we could have asked for. All in all, this was a fantastic trip, with brilliant guides, gorgeous scenery, professional set-up and unforgettable food.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for spending time to write a long and helpful review! Have a great time in VN!

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.
How much does 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta cost?
+
Prices start at $345 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.
Is 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3 Days Cycling Mekong Delta start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
